I think Spooner and Tardif have earned a shot at a few games as Bourque did.

I certainly agree that Tardif's numbers are worthy of a "why not?" call up, the kid is scoring quite a bit.

I wonder if Bourque is going to get an extra long look because PC doesn't think he'd clear waivers, which is what would have to happen before Bourque could be sent down.

If they are going to play MacDermid, which I am 100% against because he's a more useless version of Thornton, it should be against the Buffalo goon squad tomorrow night.

Even minus pussbag Kaleta, Brave Steve Ott and the most useless hockey player ever are going to be looking for fights.

If anyone gets a shot it should be tardif, he is scoring goals not setting them up that what they need on the 3rd line. I still say give bourque 10 games before they try someone else in there. Cj usually gives guys a fair shot before he changes the tide, pouliot struggled in the first ten games with only 1 goal and no assist. As well the bruins were struggling at that point in the season and cj didn't bail on him.

Sometimes, I wish the league would allow teams to dress a 19th skater (and raise the cap by 1.5M).  The NHLPA would be for it (its one more job on every team), would allow veteran guys to stick around a bit longer, would allow teams to carry a special teams specialist, and if used appropriately, could give the coach some strategic options.

Then I think about teams like Buffalo and realize that everyone would just carry a goon.

They would your 100% correct...If they were smart they would dress a power play/shoot out specialist or a 7th defenseman...And the first team that has success in doing so other teams would follow.

It's good to have Colton Orr on the ice when you need a goal.

No Shaw Thornton should equal No Colton Orr. All he is, is a liabilty. Thats why when the B's played teams without a goon, made no sense in having Thornton in there.

I Think MacDermid said to himself before the game  "I'll go after a guy I fought in Junoirs and the AHL before I'll fight Orr". LoL

And he probably did, probably wanted to get in a fight to prove his worth in case Thornton is out for an extended period of time...I like how he waited for Frasor to drop his gloves before he started throwing, he did a pretty good job.

Pretty smart on his part if that, indeed, was the case.
