Another point for him tonight. And he's plus 2 now too.
    Think he's a keeper?

Pouliot has shown some flashes lately. He played decent last night. Great pass to Kelly(who is definitely a keeper)

Lazy ? That's not even close to what I see with Pouliot.

Its his discipline in every area that is lacking!  Thats why they thought it was a good fit for CJ!  We also have the luxury of sitting him when need be.  He may be starting to get it!!
    Discipline- stupid penalties
                - not preparing
                - lets his emotions get the better of him when things dont go his way

If these things change we have a hockey player folks!

Chowdah, check out the date that Beantown28 showed up. He's just another Cactus creation. He thinks he's being clever since even he's too embarrassed to show up as Cactus during the recent streak. Bean28=whitewing=Cactus=etc.,etc.......he's absolutely pathetic but less irritating since the Bruins are playing so well.

He got me once yesterday before I realized who it was. You'll notice him showing up to "agree" with Whitewing on various posts. Very transparent.

    Re: Pouliot Watch

How is Caron supposed to get better watching from the 9th floor ? Is Benoit doing better than what Jordan could be doing on the ice ? Should be the questions.

The answer for me on both is NO. He's a terrible skater, over skates the puck constantly, gets trapped in the offensive zone because he can't control his gumby body and if it weren't for the great play of the Bs PK specialists Pouliot almost caused a big loss to a bitter division rival on the road.

I rarely pick on Chiarelli but keeping Pouliot is a head scratcher. The Boston Bruins aren't a reclamation hockey club but they used to be under Sinden, 5 cents on the dollar players should be a thing of the past not the present.

The only area where I have seen him be consistently good is starting the breakout from our defensive zone... he has been able to handle some terrible passes and make the next pass before the checker gets to him.

Playing with red-hot linemates like Pevs and Kelly doesn't hurt either!

He hasn't shown me enough to justify keeping a roster spot away from somebody younger who needs development time.
Strange case that Pouliot.  Seems to have stopped growing, not in height but in bulk and core strength. Sooooooo soft on the puck and his feet. He has the body of a kid.  Similar height to weight ratio's as Seguin and Caron.  Horton for example give up an inch and gains 30 pounds.   Is it work ethic?  Does he train hard and eat right?  I wonder.

Be good if he B's could get steady play and a combined 15 goals out of Pouliot and Caron. If not then deadline trade for a veteran.

    Re: Pouliot Watch

The Bruins need to have 13 NHL-ready forwards for the playoffs. It's worth it to see if Pouliot can turn into something good. Caron isn't enough. They need 13, so better to get that player from Pouliot than to have to trade for it at the deadline.

    Re: Pouliot Watch

I was ready to applaud his pass to Kelly as a turning point, controlled the puck then passed. But, as the game continued, the realistic Pouliot emerged. Why Claude is spending time here , rather than allowing Caron to fill and develop as Kelly's wing is indeed a mystery. Caron adds to Kelly and Peverly's effectiveness. Perhaps Pouliot will be part of a package to obtain a more skilled and experienced defenseman. None of the Providence group stand out, but they are mostly young, and Kamfer doesn't look as solid as another cup run requires. Chiarelli never sleeps.

    Re: Pouliot Watch

Glad to see some love being thrown Kelly's way and Pevs of late. PC is a rare genius of finding good affordable talent. I like both these guys and they fit nicely. Things are coming together.

    Top Line

March Berg Seg best in NHL in my mind
Hort Krej Luc if Krej really gets feeling better hard to battle this as a second line
Caron/Poul  Kelly Pev makes any team sweat having to play three complete lines.

So i guess I will not throw the towel in on either Poul or Caron yet as PC has proven me and everyone else wrong time after time. He sees something and with CJ at the helm it pans out. Although I would still like to see a veteran winger picked up as back up for the playoffs. Is what's his name the ex Captian of the Capitals still playing in Providence? Clark right?

Is he much better than Caron ?  I thought after the dumb penalties in Montreal he would have been benched and he wasn't. Actually his play has improved but can we still say he's better than Caron ?
I still think because Pouliot would have to pass re-entry waivers PC does not want to lose the guy and still end up paying half his salary.
Caron on the otherhand can go up and down and not go through re-entry waivers therefore it's an easy decision scratching him from the lineup or maybe sending him down soon. He needs to play.

Well he's got a higher PPG than Pouliot so far this season and his overall career numbers are slightly higher than what Pouliot has brought so far.

Don't think I'm trying to defend Pouliot Dez because I am not I just don't think Caron is the answer. I think the B's need to look outside for the 3rd line guy. Someone who is quick and good at checking/defense. Doesn't need to be a scorer. I just don't see why everyone thinks so highly of Caron. I just don't see it.
