Ray Whitney a Boston Bruin?

2nd rounder?  3rd rounder?  Are you kidding me?

It's gonna cost the Bruins a prospect + high pick, or a roster player + prospect.  Wake up.  Everyone knows the Bruins are desperate.

It will be the same asking price for Rene Bourque.

If they deal, the Bruins will try to trade a defenceman.  With Dougie Hamilton in the system, they will have to move someone in the off-season anyways.  Johnny Boychuk is the obvious choice - his contract exprires after this season and that's always a "plus" in a trade.

But the Bruins next four games are against: OTT, TOR, NYI, EDM.  3 of those games are at home.  If they get their stuff together and go on a streak, there will be no trade.  If they get embarassed and lose 2 or 3, then there will be a deal or two.  Count on it.

PC is manning the phones as we post !  Boston either trades now and takes a chance of making the playoffs , or they decide to stay put and use this year to evaluate a bunch of players in the system by sitting out sub performers throughout the year .

Listen Camper, because there are so many absurd trade rumors out there, and because everyone has been hearing rumblings about Whitney and Yandle and whomever else for a long time now, it really helps to have an actual source (with a link) when you are starting a new thread about an old, unreliable rumor.  Understand?

The issue is not about whether somebody thinks Whitney (or anyone else) might look good on the Bruins.  It is whether some reliable source has actually given the rumor any thought.  Like, why would Phoenix trade him?  What would they want?  What would Boston offer?  Where would Whitney play? etc etc.

Anyone can slap up a misleading post -- "Sidney Crosby a Bruin??" -- just to get some responses.  The question is, does this post have any information that is useful.  So far, no, it doesn't.  That's why I asked for a source/link.  Get it?
