I was on Recchi's case all season, but he has been a pleasant surprise in the playoffs. Yes, he is a step slower than most, but he definitely looks better in the playoffs than he did for stretches of the regular season. He has definitely stepped up his game, which he should, its that time of the year for it.

Re: Recchi is slowing down Marchand and Bergeron

Huge Recchi fan, but I still think he would have even a greater impact if he were on the 3rd line. Making some changes isn't an indictment of a player's value, it's about getting the most out of every line. As good as the 2nd and 3rd lines have been, I think we all agree that Recchi's speed is an issue, Krejci and Lucic aren't doing squat, and sometimes a new look in what can be a looooong playoff run might be the best medicine.

So instead of dumping on Dr. Recchi (I love this name), just think about where he brings the most value. Sorry to beat a dead horse with line combos, but it speaks to the topic and IMO solves several issues if Julien were to open Round 2 with....

    Lucic-Peverly-Horton
    Marchand-Bergeron-Ryder
    Kelly-Krejci-Recchi
    Paille-Campbell-Thornton
