Ryder- Let's End This Once and For All

Players that look good against Boston don't always fare as well against the rest of the league and are not the missing links for this team.  They would just be an underacheiver for another or is it an over acheiver for an underacheiver,  either way they are no different than what we would be getting rid of.

Trading Ryder for what keeps coming up on here is just that, a trade for trades sake, it would not help us, whether you believe it or not, Ryder is better than almost all the suggestions coming back.  I have no problem with Ryders game other than PC, shockingly, paying him 4M against the salary cap. If Ryd was getting2.5M he would be an awesome deal for the buck.  I would take him back next year under those numbers, he is a contributor as much as the next man, he is not a 30-40 goal scorer, but he will chip in 20+.

    Ryder #'s     11G   12A  23Pts
    2010           18     15    33
    2009           27     26    53
    2008           14     17    31
    Playoffs over these 3 yrs   9G 9A  18Pts

    Upshall   12G 8A 20P         Clarkson    7G   3A  10Pts
    2010      18   14  32                         11  13   24
    2009       15  19  34                          17  15  32
    2008       14   16 30                           9   13   22
    Playoffs-- 3    4   7                  P/O     2    0    2

    Moulson   14G  8A  22Pts     Fedotenko  8G  10A  18Pts
    2010       30   18   48                          11   19   30
    2009        1     0    1                           16   23   39
    2008        5     4    9                           16   17    33
    Playoffs--  Never Played            P/O       7     7     14

    Torres     11    8    19
    2010       19    17   36
    2009       12     8    20
    2008        5     6     11
    Playoffs over these 3 yrs  8Games  4Assists

Better to stick with what we have than these or others like them, Ryder may not be Stamkos but his effort and results are far better than these. His salary is in last year, might as well get what we can out of this salary.  If he were to come back next year for less so be it, but he better not get another 4M against this cap.

My guess is roughly 2 to 2.5 million if and only if CJ is coach.  If not Ryder will seek employment elsewhere.  No offense but after last year's effort it is time to move on.

    2009                     31  34  65

I'd love to see this Ryder sh** stop too No4, but as long as these boards are infested with morons who think that whacking Ryder means acquiring Crosby......don't expect much.

Add Booth to a overpaid player 4 more years after this at 4.25M
                   11G 12A   23Pts see anything similar here
    2010         8     8     16  Concussion only played 28 games
    2009         31   29    60
    2008         22   18    40
    P/O  Never Played

First player over last 4 years to have actually scored 2G more than Ryder, but has exact same points as him.

For a 20 goal scorer Sturm would have been best to keep. Faster, and can play special teams. Stats aside Ryder is one dimensional. Ryder is one of the many that don't show up every night. I'd like to see them move people for more heart. Ryder is one of several forwards who take nights off. it's a big problem.

One would think if he was playing for stats he would have much better stats.

His legs are slowing, but his hockey head is keeping him on the stat board. If Ryder could skate and or keep his legs moving his stats would be higher and his linemates wouldnt be shorthanded some shifts.Only forward on Bs with a - rating now. What you see is all that he may be capable of.If they sign this guy based on stats this year they are crazy
