    Savard to Return

    http://www.tsn.ca/#storyID12901/

"Savard has now been symptom-free for several months.  He began skating with a trainer during the Olympics and now believes he could resume his NHL career more than three years after it seemed that a second major concussion had ended it."

"It is unclear what his attempt to return would mean for the Boston Bruins.  Savard remains under contract until 2017.  If he were declared fit to play, the Bruins would be on the hook for his salary cap hit, reducing their flexibility for next year.  Bruins GM Peter Chiarelli will have a difficult decision with Savard, choosing between finding room for the slick centre on his deep, defensive juggernaut or buying out a player whose inspirational return to the ice would be one of the major stories of the year."

    Can't imagine....

Long gone are the days of players dumping blame on teammates for bad line changes.  This guy has no place on the Bruins.

I wish him health and never to return to the home side of the Garden ice.

In our software sales meeting with PC this morning he mentioned this.  He just mentioned it briefly as we had other business that we were working on, he said something to the effect of "We will be seeing Marc in the playoffs".  I thought he meant as a guest in the luxury box.

Marc Savard can do whatever he wants ...he's more than earned it. I would hope everyone supports him -

Wow, how do you say no to a guy of his offensive capabilities? But you have to, he can only bring this team down.

Love the guy, but maybe next year, see if he fits.

What has he earned?  He didn't throw himself on a grenade.  He got elbowed.  I wish him the best in normal life.  Stay out of the B's lineup.

Wow, I thought for sure this was an ancient thread brought up.

He's only been symptom free for several months, after all this time?  I'm sure that must be great for him, but surely his timeline for return must be extremely cautious.

As for it hurting the Bruins, he can always get the Sturm treatment.  His actual pay plummets starting next year; some cash-strapped team looking to make the floor may be willing to take a chance with him, for "future considerations".

Me too.  Plimpton was great.  I loved his appearance on the Simpsons not long before he died: "And now back to doing whatever it is that I do!"

Paris Review isn't the same without him.

Whoever BoobBoy is, I'm sure he's the life of the party.

Had one a couple of years ago - I think it was about Seguin needing surgery on his hip....
