Seidenberg out, and now we can add McQuaid & Looch to the list......OMG

What is wrong with the B's one after the other in one period alone we lose McQuaid and Looch...5 minutes PP and no goal, everytime we play the Caps we fall asleep what is wrong ...????  The Bruins simply can play with emotion against the Caps ...it looks bad for tonight if Looch and McQuaid dont come back ....

So are you saying that the B's won't make the playoffs this year.
    Heard that one before!
Injuries happen. Just not a good time for the B's.

    Lucic played the whole game...

Seidenberg will be back by next week

McQuaid should sit the rest of the regular season so he's ready for the playoffs

OMG ....Looch was back in the 2nd after he got a blast from Chara on his left foot ...phew ...Hope McQuaid can come back for the playoffs...but we are not out of the wood yet ...my choice was to play the Sens in the 1st round ...Thornton will take care of Neil and they dont have an excellent goalie's situation ...I have a funny feeling that the B's vs Sabres game (last game of the year ) will be the deciding game for who we are going to play 1st round ...if the B's win that game it will mean we will play the Sens but if we lose....duh ! !   We will face the Sabres in the 1st round.......thank God Looch is back .....

Stanley's allowing that Montreal fog to stifle his brain. Looch seems OK, but is a good indicator of why net front is dangerous when Chara shoots. Once again IMO the coach should be telling Chara to wrist it with better aim. I know it's an instant happening, but an on-net wrister has a better chance of being tipped than a blast, and less chance of crippling a Bruin forward. Head down slappers are always "maybes", while On net wristers are more possibles.

One added concern, 5 minutes and no goal. It was a cluster flick with players totally confused on where to go, and what to do. It has degraded more than improved, and "coaching" is somehow confusing rather than helping.

When are people going to realize that Geoff Ward is the powerplay problem. We have had a revolving door of players to be on the PP squad over the past 5 years, yet the PP continues to be a problem. The problem is the scheme which orginates from Ward; he needs to be fired.

Ya, have the coach tell the guy with the hardest slap shot in the league he should be using a wrist shot instead so he doesn't hurt anyone. lol. The Bruins have a weapon back there so use it.

How many times has Chara's wrist shot from the bluline made it's way to the back of the net ( being tipped or not ) compared to the slap shot ?

Hazards of standing in front of the net = getting hit with the puck off of a slapshot. It's where they have to go to score goals.

Re: Seidenberg out, and now we can add McQuaid & Looch to the list......OMG

I'm not going to say that the power-play is fine.  It clearly has some issues.  However, it isn't bottom of the league.  It's exactly in the middle, and only 4% points off from the best (or 1 goal in 25 power-plays).  I'm not sure that it's overall performance is bad enough to fret over.

Where it is most frustrating is that when it is bad, it is really bad, and the other team ends up coming out flying when it is over.  They also rarely seem to score the timely PP goal (such as during the 5 minutes last night).

People on here have been saying this for well over a year.  This is not some original idea.

So, just to diversify the "fire ward" conversation a little bit - my rationale is basically that they remind me of that Simpsons episode where Homer is coaching Bart at mini-golf:

Keep your head down and follow through....D'Oh!  Okay, now don't keep your head down and don't follow through!

In other words, there doesn't seem to be a true understanding of what will work as a PP for this group of players; instead, it seems like they started with an old cookie cutter formula and instead of honing performnce and building consistency or tweaking creatively, they're randomly and rapidly changing what they're asking the players to do - so they look confused, guys aren't where the puck-carrier expects them to be (who knows if the expectation or the positioning is at fault) and everyone hesitates before acting because nothing is instictual.

    End result, lousy PP.

Re: Seidenberg out, and now we can add McQuaid & Looch to the list......OMG

i take comfort in knowing their pp was worse last year, yet they won the prize. not saying it can/will happen again but this year is eerily similiar to last year. similiar record, again top five in both gf and ga, best 5v5 team in the league, best third period team in the league, pp stinks, and the scoring is spread out pretty evenly. the only glaring difference is the goaltending. last year was insanely good, this year is was very good. and it does hurt to not have tuukka as an ultimate insurance plan.
