    Showing love for skating clowns

Interesting article...I agree with 97% of it. Guess which part I don't.

That he's the most physically intimidating player on the B's not named Chara?

Guessing someone named Lucic, Siedenberg, Boychuck, Mcquaid, Ference, Campbell or even Paille  might have something to say about that.

And for the record...He's NOT a skating clown....That's a name that he doesn't deserve...He has 2 stanley cup rings from 2 different teams...Show some respect, not love.

Duuuuuuude. Poking fun at other posters by calling Thornton that. Have a beverage and settle. Game doesn't start for another 2:30.

He is 100% a skating clown.  His role for 82 games is to skate around and entertain the crowd, not much unlike a clown at the circus...minus the skates.  He isn't a NHL quality hockey player.  If fighting was removed, this guy would be the same day.

That's all I will say on it until the summer, when we just don't have much else to talk about, and I need a diversion from BHabs projections.

Ohhh ...Another assist for Thorton !!  And a fight...If he gets a goal he's got a Gordie Howe hat trick going..

pfffffffffffff  to your post !   when it comes to Shawn Thorton your sounding like a Troll !

Yeah, Stuke.  I sound like a troll.  I didn't start the thread.

If you want to champion his cause, maybe you should start spelling his name right.  I generally let typos or spelling errors go, but seriously, if you're this much behind the guy, can't you at least know how he spells his name?

3 assists and a +4 in the series for ST.  Albeit limited minutes, he played really well and deserves credit for that.

I thought he played a decent series.  But hes a clown.  And he certainly picks his spots.  I didnt see him near Orr when he was running chara every shift.

That entire line played well.  Imagine if a hockey player was playing instead of ST.  Anyway, im too happy to debate this topic.

Some bargain.  1.1 million is a bargain.  Sad thing he doesnt even know how to protect his players.  As stated above.  He went no where near Orr who was running chara all series.  Yet someone like chris neil sees lucic running guys in the last gm of year and he goes after lucic.

Hes no bargain.  He takes painfully long shifts.  He doesnt hit.  watch and see how pitt will use this advantage.

I give him credit for a decent series.  But i base that on campy paille.

After todays clinching win, Lucic said that Thornton, Paille, Campbell and Krug deserve full credit for the series win. Did u catch that?   I don't understand why this player is even on debate here, every time his name comes up (anywhere)  it's always followed by a positive response unless your NAS the hater....And since when does chara need protection?

You obviously havent followed along in here much this year.  I would be willing to say 90 percent of the good posters want him out.  Paille campy always show up.  ST is lucky to play on that line.  Name one significant thing he did this series.  He had 3 assists that banked off him.  I will give him credit for driving the net this series and playing with 2 solid nhl players.  hes supposed to hit, run guys that play heavy minutes, protect his fellow team mates and stage fight other clowns.  He hasnt done any of this.

I will give him credit for a decent series.  Paille and Campy were awesome.

1.1 million dollars is no bargain in my eyes.  Its a 1.1 million dollar empty jersey.  Pitt will expose him badly.

Missed the chara part.  When skating clown orr runs your captain and mvp numerous times you put your clown on to stop that.  Thats his job.  Which he fails to do.

Shup your your dead wrong on Thornton.  There is a time to fight in a game and Thornton is one of the best at it.

What do you mean he picks his spots. Everybody he fights is bigger than him. He's fought Boogard twice, Scott, Carkner, Rupp....Etc. He's fought Orr many times and got the better of him in most of them. Every team runs Chara And Chara can take care of himself. I admit  most of his fights are staged but he is the best enforcer in the league. And he always has his teammates back. He is an important cog in the wheel.

That being said as the playoffs progress you may not need him and he can sit.  He is better player player than you give credit for.
