    Skinner Slew Foot

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s4nCj-rSuq4

I know Jack loves to talk about the kids skating ability and absolutely has a man crush on this kid, but I want to see Patrice knock this kids head off next time the B's and Canes meet.  This is his signature move.

    http://www.canescountry.com/2012/3/16/2879033/jeff-skinner-suspended-for-two-games

Why is this not being brought in front of Shanny?  This kid now has a history of this nonsense.

Scully I don't think it forces "a Bruin" to go after him next meeting. I think it means that Skinner better watch himself when Bergeron is on the ice. He can take care of himself. Ask Jorges.

I have a problem with the league not looking at this.  History is supposed to matter to them in how they review and handle suspensions.  I gotta believe if this was the nose faced killa doing the slew footing, he would be getting a call from Shanny!

Time for him to clean up his "act".

Skinner has a history of attitude problems going back to Junior where he was known for his on-ice hissyfits. This is nothing new.

Yea & I think Bergy maybe ambidextrous.

You're right MeanE. People can say what they want about Marchand but it sure seems like there are 2 sets of standards by which the punishments are handed out.

Ah so that's what it was. I think Skinner was pissed off - he was getting hit hard and often last night. Still, slew footing Bergeron.... why?

Brutal. This puts Jeff skinner into Sidney Crosby territory, cheap shotting players and expecting his teammates to protect him. If there was any real justice in the league, Shawn Thornton would bash the 20 year old's pretty face in, but that won't happen, and Carolina's version of S.T. will just square off him with ST next time. SO stupid.

Jeff Skinner needs to play hockey and be thankful that actual tough guys don't break his face in.

In any event, this will probably earn a $2,500 fine from the league (it really should be a suspension, but there is precedent for a fine)

Ols, maybe he gets more considering he's already been suspended once (2 games) for kicking.

I don't mind him saying it San. With the way Brad is villified, it's important that Shanahan realize there are non-Bruins that can play dirty too. Remember when Shanahan suspended Lucic for his "body of work" even though he admitted that none of the incidents on their own were against the rules? Skinner needs to be held accountable and Marchand has actually been a choir boy so far. Cheers!

No place for slew footing. He tried to make it look incidental, but he clearly did it. When someone slew foots you or tries to, you know exactly what their intent is. Bergeron doesn't get angry often. Next time the B's play the Canes, it is Shawn Thorntons job to address this. If he has to take a penalty, pick a spot and do it.

I thought he sounded reasonable.  He admitted that he has made mistakes in the past.  What's wrong with calling someone out who is dirty?  Even if in this case it takes one to know one.

Shawn will not address the figure skating slew footer, it will either be Patrice or more than likely, the nose face killa will go after him.  Just as our top scorers shouldn't drop the mits with 4th liners, Skinner is not gonna get drilled by #22 either.

Bergeron is a star on the Bruins and this is obviously a dirty play.

Isn't this what having a goon on the roster is supposed to prevent?  You know, other players "taking liberties" with stars?

Appearently not NAS since Skinner is not a goon. Only goons who go after players will be challenged by other goons. Stupid. Next time they play, Thornton should go after Skinner and give him a a couple punches to the back of the head as Skinner turtles. It's why Thornton is on the team.

"The NHL has taken no action on the Skinner-Bergeron play, Canes general manager Jim Rutherford confirmed Tuesday.

Skinner said he has watched the replay six times and again denied that it was a "slew-foot."

"We got tangled up," he said. "I don't know what else to say. He puts his stick across my body and latches on to me and we both fell backward. I really don't know what I'm supposed to do in that situation."

Skinner in complete denial. Yah Dez, Marchand has been clean so far hope he stays that way.

Well if Claude had #22 on the ice at the end of the game, like many claim he always does, then maybe Skinner wouldn't have taken the liberties.  But since #22 wasn't on the ice, and he knew he would get escorted to the dressing room, he took his opportunity to be the dirty little figure skating slew footing - kicker that he is.  Plus, he's hoping that the B's forget about it before their next tilt which doesn't happen until April 8th.  LOL

He can expect this kind of "tangled up" to happen to him more often, if he continues to be a little rat!
