Stop blaming Timmy!!!

Timmy has taken so much crap by our "fans" that is getting annoying. this man works his injured hip to come back and play the best hockey of his life for you and you flip out when he lets in one goal. it is not his fault. hes won two vezinas in the last three years. wed be winning if our every shot wasnt from the point. luongo needs to be challenged

Tim Thomas is too aggressive and it cost us the game.  Look at the 2nd goal, he was way too far out of the crease and if he was back more in his net, he would have had a better chance to make the save.  Did you see the OT goal? That was pathetic...absolutely pathetic...It's time to move on from Thomas...Might as well get something for him while you can

no u dont trade a two time vezina winner moron. he was in the crease for the second goal. u couldnt make that save and he was screened so much. and u arent supposed to play that far back. what cost us both games was offense. timmy was trying to push burrows so chara could get the puck. if he stayed in the crease there would have been a centering pass that would be hard to save.

I love Tim Thomas and I like his style. He`s kept us in ALOT of games.
But sometimes you have to adjust just a little. That OT goal was terrible. There is NO WAY he should`ve been out of grease. Hold the post and slide to cover the wrap-around.The first goal was lame as well.Very weak.Sometimes you just have to be smart and adjust.
With that being said,i`m glad that he`s our goalie.I just would like to see him pick his times to be a little to overly aggressive.
Timmy`s the man,it sure would be nice if we gave him some help on the scoreboard.

It will be a sad day when TT get's moved this summer.

Expect a big return of a first round pick, a first line player and a quality draft pick playing on the farm.

TT can AlMoSt win you a cup single handidly.

Should BB's retire TT's jersey once he's traded?

0796, Thomas has only won 1 Vezina trophy. Yes, people get on his case way too much, myself included, but for all the great saves he makes he also gives up some eye-popping goals. He should be given some grief for that OT goal. As much as he kept the team in it last night he also gave it away. Now, I am not blaming him for the lose, I am just blaming him for giving up that goal. The team should have played better in the 3rd period and closed out the game. With that being said, I hope they play on fire Monday night. Go Bruins!!!

I`ve read alot of your posts and respect your hockey knowledge.
Do you really think that they`ll move him? Is Tukka ready? I`m not so sure.
We have a great team and could compete for a couple more years with a few tweaks.
And no,2 great years does`nt get your jersey retired. That would be an insult
to the other Bruin greats. JMO

No they should not retire TT's jersey when he is no longer with the team. Unless he decides to play until he is 50 and wins a couple of cups, but that isn't happening.

Re: Stop blaming Timmy!!!

Sorry but if you understand hockey theres no way you cant blame him for that last goal. I 110% his fault , period. Stop being a homer. Z did absolutely everything right , after 21 gave up the puck for his second TO that led to a goal. TT had absolutely no business jumping up like that. Worst thing is your taught that in pee-wee's. Why in the world would you want to pick Z in that situation. The shooter could only go one way , the angle was soooo small. If TT cant stop that shot he shouldnt be playing. Look back at the replay where he fakes his shot , TT handles that easy 9-10 times everyday. Now lets say the shooter did exactly the samething except TT stays put. TT is there to slide across and make the stop ... IF it evens gets there bc Z would have never been picked! As great as TT has/is been theres no forgetting that goal , at least from a fans perspective. Its OT game 2 , we could have been easliy won the first and we cant go down 0-2. Theres just no way getting around it , he cost us that game. The old " one play doesnt make/break a game " is absolute B/S to anyone thats ever played the game. After killing yourself and others for 48-60 etc. one play does make/break a game. Listen the B's as a whole need to step up theres no debating that at all. We need our bug guys to step up period. Not to mention our bottom 6 fowards and other D-men. Going into the series our bottom 6 fowards killed there bottom 6.

Re: Stop blaming Timmy!!!

This bashing of Thomas is getting beyond stupid. Think about it. Game 1 a loss 1-0, if the B's had any offense they win. Game 2 a loss 3-2 and the offense although better still did not show up. Yes Thomas has made some mistakes but what player doesn't. Timmy's unorthodoxed style has also led to him making some great saves. Anyone that thinks Thomas can all of a sudden change his playing style and be effective is clueless. As other posters have mentioned though, Thomas should try and play smarter. That OT goal was more on not playing smart and not on his playing style. Have faith people, it is best of 7 and it aint ova yet. Go B's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I ride the fence with Tim.  But if you are going to claim that he wins alot of games for the Bruins, you have to also admit that that OT goal was his fault.  And it was.

I blame him for that game.  I also, give him credit for the Montreal and Tampa series.  Goalies are the QBs of hockey.  They are either the heros or goats.  In reality, it's somewhere in between.

Lets stop bashing our goalie and get behind him and the team tonight!!!
Lets try to enjoy the ride of the Cup. Call me crazy but I still think we can win this thing. It has to start with a win tonight in our building. I will take my chances with TT since he is one of the reasons that we are this far along.
No doubt that the OT goal was very bad and 100% TTs fault. Lets hope that he wont let that happen again this year. Go Bz!

Amen to the spirit of your post if not the facts. Tank Thomas has not won two Vezina Trophies, he has won one. He's been nominated for his second; we'll know in a couple of weeks if he wins his second.
Crazy fans blaming TT. You guys expect him to stop every shot. That is unrealistic. He made a bad play in OT. But to blame him for the game is ridiculous. Where was the offense? I did see Boston putting any pressure on Luongo in those third periods.  The Bs score that third goal and they win that game. And in your eyes then and only then TT is the hero? That is just unfair. TT makes up for the missed ones or easy ones by keeping the Bs in games. Bs win tonight.....
Posted by antiqueman1
No one expects him to stop every shot. But for a guy that you TT fans constantly drone on and on about Vezina Trophies and stats about, we would appreciate it if he would not look like a street hockey goalie on crack in overtime of a Stanley Cup Final game.  Asking too much?

PS, making good saves (or overacted saves) during a game DOES NOT make up for blowing it with a hideous soul-sapping stinker in OT.  Only to people overly impressed by trophies. "Makes up for the easy ones?"  Are you one of those people who cheers for giving out 8th place ribbons?

TT deserves a ton of credit for helping (unlike some people who believe he carried them here) the team to the Final.  He also deserves more respect than some of us have shown him over his erratic career... but geeez he makes it SO hard sometimes...

These games aren't being lost because of TT's goaltending; if anything, it's because no one on  this Bruins team has actually taken a legit shot.

Stop with the Thomas bashing.  If not for him, we wouldn't even be watching this team in the Cup.
