    Sportsnet says they can't announce/finalize until after the buyout period.

    Philly will over paid for him, but don't have many other options.       Looking for a new "warm and fuzzy" Cup Win.

    I cant wait to see the cap hit. When he came into the league, wasnt much of a defenseman, more of a power play specialist. He gotten better defensively but still has holes. Maybe they see puck possesion as a form defense, and looking for better first passes for those forwards.

    Holmgren has to stabalize that blueline or he misses the playoffs again. I thought Gonchar was overpaid by Ottawa based on his last year in Pittsburgh (the playoffs), he certainly lived up to his contract. Streit has been great for the Islanders the last few years, so I think the money is ok.

    He makes the Flyers defense better, but after they are tight up against the cap even after they buy out Briere and put Pronger on LTIR.
