I think Subban is going for a Weber type deal....

This arbitration action is pretty routine is it not ?

Didn't Wheeler file for arbitration then PC signed him to two year deal ?

Yes I think Subban is going to get a monster deal.

Would be funny if it was Philly that did this...just like they did Weber.

What a mess that would be

Holmgren is not Philly, so it would be a shocker. I can see the Strangers doing something stupid JM. Don't fret Bs fans JJ will give his graces to any of the RFA offers.

Seems to be counterproductive to buy out Richard's and his enormous contract just to offer another player a huge one.

But it is Sather after all so all bets are off.

    Just picked this up:

Elliotte Friedman@FriedgeHNIC Follow Just a couple of notes on player-elected arbitration. No one who chooses it can sign offer sheet, team has choice of one- or two-year award

I wonder if Subban isn't as happy as he seems about being a Canadien.  He might go this route to get a short deal and then become a UFA.  When is he eligible to become UFA?

He is a UFA after his next contract. Not a bad strategy if you are correct.
