    Take a moment

I was just thinking with all the talk about who is staying and who may be going. Who will step up from Providence and who will Flop. How great a journey it has been watching Bergeron develop into one of the best hockey players in the league. I remember watching a video when he was escorted to work on a Zamboni and how he was going to be the next great thing. I saw him play once and went out and bought his rookie card with pride. Now this many years later and after fear of losing him to concussion he has silently mind you with no fan fare or arrogance become one of the elite. Some one we know will be a Bruin for life. He is becoming as beloved as Bourque and so many before him. Some day we will see him in management like so many greats. I love the article on PJ now being part of the International recruiting team. Loved him as well. I have pictures of my new born son with Patrice and PJ and even Joe Thorton. What a great day that was at the wife's carnival. Anyway I want to take a moment and talk about how great Bergeron is and how excited I am to watch him continue to win awards in Boston. Enough said. Now you all can go back to crushing on me for not wanting to lose Boychuk.

He's a fantastic two way forward, one of the best in the league today.

Let's not make him out to be anything more.

Bourque and Orr are Top 20 All Time players.

NAS you are on the tear of confrontation. Did I say he was a Bobby Orr. Come on bud lets be real here. But is he a pretty elite player in the league right now. Yes he is.

    Re: Take a moment

I would agree that at times he is among the very best players in the game.  In the '13 playoffs I honestly felt he was easily among the game's top-5 best.

I think his one major flaw was shown last year against the habs.  Bergeron is a neutralizer player who can also score at a top level.  So if you're playing head to head against the Penguins and you can have Bergeron or Crosby you're almost better having Bergeron because he's great at shutting down his opponent while still scoring.  However, if you're playing a team that doesn't have a major star center to shut down Bergeron is less valuable than some of his peers because his scoring is never at the level of the Crosby's and Stamkos's of the world.

    Re: Take a moment

Bergeron's been top 5 or 6 in Selke voting for about 5 years; he's been getting votes for the Hart the last three years (5th this year), and he's been in the top 12-13 for the Lady Byng trophy.  I don't think he's ever been higher than 4th on teh year end all star process, though - meaning that even if you only look at centres, there's a pool of guys who are considered better players.

    Are you not entertained?!?!

I like Bergeron a lot, one of my favorite Bruins and seems like a decent guy...

It's interesting how he went from sort of being an overlooked or underrated player, to someone who people are constantly drooling over. Not that it isn't deserved and I'm not trying to take anything away from him, it's just funny how he went from one extreme to the other.
