Presently? Definitely Zdeno Chara.

Great question, I think we'd all have different answers since most of us are different ages.
When I see/hear of teams different players come to mind:
Boston: Bourque/Neely Orr Esposito
Montreal: Roy
Quebec: Goulet/P. Stastny Nolan, Forsberg
Hartford: Sylvain Turgeon/Brass Bonanza Francis, Dineen
Detroit: Yzerman Federov Osgood Lidstrom Shanahan Coffey
Toronto: Sundin/Tugnutt (that one game, and the fact it's always on NESN) Gilmour
Chicago: Belfour + Roenick, Larmer Chelios
Flames: Vernon Fleury
Canucks: Bure + Linden Mogilny
Jets: Hawerchuk Selanne
Sabres: Barrasso/Andreychuk, and I always think of Foligno jumping and for some reason the ice inside of the net being painted yellow. Lafontaine Hasek
Oilers: Gretzky
Kings: Gretzky
North Stars: Modano Broten, McRae
Blues: Federko Hull, Sutter Curtis Joseph
Penguins: Mario Jagr Francis
Devils: Brodeur + Stevens
Rangers: Richter + Graves, Leetch Messier
Fliers: Lindros, Leclaire, Hextall, Brind'Amour
Capitals: Ovechkin, Bondra
Added a few others in bold and italics. -

I don't think there really is one for the current Bruins, and I think that's a good thing.

If it's the overall face of the franchise, it's #4 Bobby Orr hands down. Maybe the most recognizable face in the history of hockey with the possible exception of Gretzky.
Currently playing, Chara is the face of the franchise (he is big, he is bad, and he is a Bruin), Bergeron is the heart of the franchise. Thornton is the knuckles of the franchise, Marchand is the nose of the organization, and apparently Seguin is the naughty parts of the franchise.

LOL seo. Lucic has to be part of the nose grouping.

I like to think of Jean Ratelle as a Bruin

Does anyone else think of Gilles Perrault when they think of the Sabres

When I think of the Sabres I think of Dave Andreychuk for some reason

Sabres, Jerry Korab
Canucks, Jocelyn Guevremont or Bobby Lalonde
Rangers, Rod Gilbert
Flyers, Moose Dupont
Maple Leafs, Eddie Shack
Black Hawks, Keith Magnuson
Habs, Mario Temblay
Penguins, Ken Schinkel (the line of Shock, Shack and Schinkel)

Now you're just pulling names out of a hat.
Flyers has to be Clarke, Clarke, Clarke - then Parent, Barber, Leach, Howe, Hextall. For some reason, Dornhoeffer.
Sportsnet mag recently put out a top 30 Laffs of all time - and boy is it sad. Bruin top 30 might be amusing to construct.

One thing is for sure most picks are broken down by the era or decade the poster really started to follow hockey. My face for the Bruins when I really started to get into following, Boston Middleton-Ratelle-Park but with research- Schmidt just stands out too much for me.

Great question, I think we'd all have different answers since most of us are different ages.
When I see/hear of teams different players come to mind:
Boston: Bourque/Neely/Moog & Bobby Orr will ALWAYS be the face of the Bruin's no matter the era
Montreal: Roy/Lafleur
Quebec: Goulet/P. Stastny/Gosselin
Hartford: Francis/Dineen
Detroit: Yzerman/Probert
Toronto: Sittler/Salming/Palmateer
Chicago: Savard/Wilson/ Tony O'
Flames: MacDonald/McInnis
Canucks: Bure/King Richard/ Smyl/Gradin
Jets: Hawerchuk/Selanne
Sabres: Perrault/Martin/Roberts/Edwards/Sauve
Oilers: Gretzky/Messier
Kings: Gretzky/Dionne/Goring/Taylor/Vachon
North Satrs: Modano/Smith/Meloche
Blues: Federko/Hull/Oates/Luit
Penguins: Mario/Jagr
Devils: Brodeur/Stevens
Rangers: Richter/Messier/Espo/Davidson
Nice Thread BTW!

Those are the funniest or most notorious players which immediately come to mind.I remember Korab on a PP and went to pass to the other point - and the puck went over the glass. Too much time in the weight room.
Magnuson, how can you think about him without thinking of him losing every fight he was ever in. Even Esposito slapped him out.
And Rod Gilbert (as was Bobby Scmautz) couldn't resist winding up and taking a slap shot no matter when or where.
