Hey, in all fairness its his first game back after surgery.  A shut out was a little too much to expect.

How many years did PC sign this old guy for ? That's a pretty expensive contract for a backup goaltender. Posted by RMiller87

Chiarelli 1(Thomas Vezina winner) Tallon 0 Huet no Vezina's playing in Switzerland but still costing Chicago over 5Mil!

Chiarelli 2 (GAA leaders last two years) Pierre Gauthier 0 (trades young goalie that just led the Canadians to the Eastern Conference championship)

    Uh Oh!!!

Timmy was one of many that played bad tonight, and honestly, they've all got one foot on the plane to Belfast...

What a shock! A TT loss, and the 4 or 5 usual bashers crawl out from under their rocks.
If any of you think TT is the problem, after watching that passionless display, you have even less hockey knowledge than I thought.

I heard that the plane to Belfast makes more stops than Thomas did tonight...

Thomas had better make sure that those tickets to Europe are round trip before stepping on that plane...

Sheesh, either way -- I'm just glad that my Habs ain't stuck with a 4 year contract for a $20 Million Dollar backup...

Marvin is Marty's older brother and plays catcher for Kenny Powers team in Mexico. He's just ashamed that he's not a star so he's trying to find himself with those Kenny Powers self help tapes.

TT let in some suspect goals during his playoff career. Vs Carolina a few years ago was he not shaky? Rask was amazing last year in the regular season and playoffs. He is positionally more sound and composed than TT. When TT lets in a goal or two , especially the kind where the opposing team gets the lead, he is not as good when the score is even or we lead. Rask is the same no matter at what juncture of the game. At the playoffs you need a guy like that more than someone like TT. You can't be always be leading 2 nothing I don't want to bash TT , i like him alot as a goalie and if we didn't have Rask, i like our chances with him. But the situation is that we do have Rask and he is a little better
    Posted by yaz16

That's still only your opinion. I think they're both equally good right now. In 1-3 more yrs Rask most likely will be the better of the 2. Right now it doesn't matter who plays. I think it's awesome having both & wayyyyyyyy too early to be talking about play-offs.

What a problem to have, huh?  Thomas playing very well, and Rask played so well last year.  I am almost tempted to keep both, if it werent for Thomas' huge cap hit.
    Posted by slicksteve38

Thomas and Rask combined have a cap hit of $6.25 million. That's less than Lundqvist alone ($6.875m) and close to Kiprusoff ($5.83m). If Rask had a huge contract as well it would prove difficult, but for two standout goalies, that's a tolerable cap hit.

Neither has Rask! So the argument is a non issue.

He is not just being showcased you dummy. He is a good goalie in general. But the Bruins are in cap trouble. When trade deadline looms, pc at least has to think about trading him. Listen when playoffs rolls around there is no switching between TT and Rask. Rask is a better bet in the playoffs.
    Posted by yaz16

What are you basing this on? Your opinion? Let's not even go down this road. You don't know who will be starting in the play-offs. Unless you're some sort of wizard, or borrowed Micheal J Fox's Delorean & went ahead in time. CJ himself doesn't know who will be starting in the play-offs. So you don't either. So, lets just stop that foolish gibberish until the time comes.

He is being showcased. Most of you guys don't it. Rask is our #1 goalie. I like Timmy but if we had to choose one today, Rask would be the guy. If a nice trade for Timmy is offered it would happen. For Rask, you better offer an elite player back.
