While we are on requests, may I suggest that replies be edited so one post does not equal half a page? Some of these are getting impossible to read....
Yes.  Most have been doing a great job.  Once in a while a double quote is warranted, but in general, the last statement is all that's needed.

The worst is when someone quotes one of Book's symphonies and responds with "I agree".
A simple thumbs up and thumbs down would correct this.

Or just don't hit "reply" unless you're late to the party.  If it's fairly straightforward for someone reading the thread to know that you're responding to a longer post by, say, me, a simple "I agree with Book, that's brilliant!" probably doesn't need the whole quote above it.

Unless BDC wants to pay me by the word printed....

    2.  JMW, please stop bolding your entire posts.  It confuses my slow mind when reading quoted posts.

    Oh, one more:

    3.  Crowls, awesome debate over the last few days.  It's one of the reasons I love this place.  It really makes me dig in to get the facts.  Sadly, this time, I have become an expert on Marleau and Marchand, but it still is great.  I love that everyone keeps each other honest on stats and forces each other to really do the research if coming to the table.  Good stuff!
I have thoroughly enjoyed the Marleau/Marchand debate.  A good combination of opinion, data and snarky comments, while still keeping the discussion moving forward.

Cheers to you and others that have contributed and to anyone else that has enjoyed the read.

It would probably be easy to get Rick Nash for Marchand straight up. How's that for a controversy starter.

Life on BDC is so much better without Marco the Hab.

To be fair, lot's of people wanted to bring him in. It's hard to imagine that only 2 year later we could reasonably discuss a straight swap of Marchand for Nash. The Rangers would be thrilled to make that deal I would think.

Interesting.  I wonder which way I'd sway.  I know Marchand's career stats by heart (yeah, thanks a lot Crowls) but haven't really dug into Nash.  I know he's a tremendous talent.  If this starts, I'll chime in, but not until a few others have.

It's hard to imagine them not having success but then again, it's hard to believe Nash's output so far in NY. Puzzling to say the least.

Nash is a black hole.  In NY, it looks like he has zero sense of how to use his teammates, how to cycle, how to move the puck and how to move away from the puck in order to manufacture a scoring chance.  "Unga!  Rick take puck to net now!  Unga Bunga"  Physical gifts in spades, but man, he does nothing with them.

Nash for Marchand/Kelly?  Contracts even out.

A line of dk lucic nash would be the new legion of doom.

Nash- pp, pk, big, fast, pure scorer.   Would love this move.

Marchand-Kelly continue the speed skill game going for nyr.  Plus with richards off the books(or so we think) they could target possibly one of the big centers that are being talked about.  Kelly gives them a 3rd or 4th line center.  Word is Moore wants to go back to nyr.  Kelly could be 3rd line there.

As for the rest of the bruins lines loui replaces brad and skates with smith bergie.  Soder would get two ufa wingers that would have been iggy money.  Setoguchi and Raymond.

Gives us room to bridge smith krug.

I guess multiple bagels and coffees.  Bring a jacket, Ristuccia is freezing even in a heat wave.  Coldest non-outdoor rink I've ever been in.

Yep. Better goals per game ratio than any Bruin. Still young. Fast. Pricey but, hey, you have to pay for quality sometime no?

Re: Two Open Statements to Revered Members

Cullen's take on Nash for what it is worth:

"After leading the NHL playoffs with 83 shots on goal, yet managing only three goals, Rick Nash came under heavy fire for his lack of production. And yet, over the past two seasons, no one gets shots on goal during 5-on-5 play at a higher rate than Nash and his goals/60 is also best in the league. Yes, it was a bad slump in the postseason but Nash, who just turned 30, has strong enough underlying numbers to believe he can still be a top goal-scorer."

Incredible comedy.  Now Marchand's worth more than Rick Nash.
