Under 10?!?!?!?!?

tyler seguin scoring line 1-1-2
tyler seguin TOI - 9:38
tyler seguin PP TOI - 0:00
1 goal 1 assist, less then 10 mins of ice time and no powerplay time. i really dont understand it. kids a natural gifted goal scorer, he undressed the dman last night but yet he doesnt get on the PP and gets under 10 mins. this is the playoffs, its all or nothing for julien, throw aside the hes not a good defender or doesnt like going into the corners. if he produces then why does it matter? it doesnt, especially when you are trying to win against another offensively talented team. simpily play seguin and sit either paille or thornton.

Re: Under 10?!?!?!?!?

Seguin wasn't a big part of CJ's gameplan, so he didn't play much.  He got about as much icetime as most here thought he would.  Did he deserve more?  Probably.  But CJ sticks to his guns during a game.  That said, I think he will adjust and give Seguin more on Tuesday.  The kid earned it, and that's what CJ wanted to see.

Keep in mind that despite two points he was only even on the score sheet.  Two goals against as well.  He was fun to watch but we can't start thinking he dominated in all aspects of the game.

WHAT YOU JUST DESCRIBED IS CALLED "COACHING FAIL".

THIS IS THE PLAYOFFS. EVERY GAME REALLY MATTERS. SOMEONE INFORM THE COACH. Julien and Krejci share the same fundamental lack of urgency and belief that "slow and steady always wins the race". They're wrong.

If Seguin is not on the power play in the next game the coach should be the first coach in history to be fired while coaching in the conference finals.

Bit of a knee jerk reaction by you.  My sense is this team is being coached by committee.  After game 1, CJ, PC and Cam sat down and evaluated every  player performance, and then came up with the game 2 gameplan.  We'll see what adjustments they made tomorrow night.  I'd like to see Seguin on the PP too, but if not, I'm sure there are reasons why, and all three men are comfortable with the decision - whatever that may be.
oatescam, seguin cant control if theres a lose puck knocked in, in front of the net nor a soft goal let in by thomas. he created chances, produced, and played really well and deserves more ice time
Posted by bruinsCupiN09
No, but when he is the closest forward to the eventual goalscorer, and he's gliding back to the scrum watching the play and not picking up the man, he bears some responsibility.  Seidenberg kicked the puck free, but he needed his winger to be paying attention and to keep the Lightning player (Bergenheim in this case) from having a free shot.

Exactly.  And his performance probably would have been worse if CJ wasn't picking the correct times to use him.  Having Seguin on there when Lecavalier and St. Louis are on could be a nightmare, and CJ needs to anticipate the changes.  So if there is the possibility of the big line coming on, the weak line stays off.  He had 10 great minutes of ice time becuase he was on against weak opposition.  Kinda like Adam McQuaid's spectacular +/- numbers.  CJ knows what he is doing with his younger/weaker players.

Not playing a hot hand when you are down by 2 or more is ridiculous. Seguin may have had a couple of more goals on his stick, we'll never know now. Clode is clueless and if he can't get the power play untracked and still refuses the Seguin option he should be fired. Seguin's not physical but he's built for the power play. I like Thornton but he's not needed against a skill team, Seguin is.

Soon or later CJ will have to use Seguin on the PP ...this is now a running gag in the NHL ...B's Power Play ...why not try Seguin ?? Can it be worst than 2 for 41 ?????
I would still dress him over Paille once Bergy comes back. He can do everything Paille does in the limited time the fourth line plays and can play the PP which is pretty dismal...which is being kind.

Seguin can't hold Paille's jock strap defensively, on the back check, on the forecheck, or on the PK. But sure, he can do everything that Paille can.

In almost identical ice time, Seguin and Paille had almost identical numbers(2 hits and even +/-). The big difference was Seguin managed to take 3 shots and score 2 points while Paille put up zeroes..

Yeah, I just love that "Paille is so awesome defensively" meme or the classic "he is so invaluable to the B's PK." He is rarely on the PK anymore and is so valued as a defensive forward in these playoffs that he is barely cracking 9 minutes a night. But lets not let the truth get in the way of a good bogus argument....

If Seguin has another productive game then CJ will be hardpressed to send him back up to the rafters once Patrice comes back Both Thornton and Paille are the most expendable members of this team....

Re: Under 10?!?!?!?!?

4th line is a solid -1 considering 8 wins and 4 losses and a 20-7 sweep of Phi, you'd think they should have a plus.

Seg plays 1 game has 2 points misses afew assignments like everyone on the team, EVERYONE, but he plays nothing.

The FO and clod have been doing well so far(yes I said clod), this is one loss, not the end of the world yet. If they can stay in the game clod can coach, get down and it takes him a few games to adapt (slower than anyone else), hopefully he adapts quicker this time or they never trail again.

clod sit Thorn, play Seg and Caron if Berg is out. pleeeeeaaaasssseeee.
