Why haven't the Bruins added Iginla to their roster on bruins.nhl.com?

Eriksson was added about two seconds after the trade was announced.

Three days after his reported signing - no Iginla.

On a separate thought, who gets Ference's "A".  Or do they just let Kelly have it full time?

I'm just guessing that there must be something technical which makes a trade official faster than adding a free agent. I'm not sure though. I'll guess Lucic for the "A". I think the added responsibility could help him keep his emotions in check.

This makes the most sense to me and i think Milan is ready for the added responsibility.

Good points both. Just to be different, I will say Boychuk.

Interesting they have the press releases and feature article about the Iginla signing, yet they don't have him on the roster.

And I think Iginla gets the 'A'.

Wait a minute, what the heck is up with that roster?  They still have Bourque on it.  And Carter Camper?  Why Carter Camper?  I just counted 5 other Providence Bruins with more NHL games than him, but he and Caron are the only 2 ahl forwards on the roster.

I sort of wish they give the second "A" to Campbell. Game in, game out hard worker and.... well... there's the broken leg thing that'll go down in history as one of the bravest, most courageous hockey play.

He's a true Bruin and he's my pick.

My guess is Iginla has not 'officially signed' his new deal with the B's yet, which would account for his delay getting added to the roster on the website. So likely just a formality.

Regarding the 'A'...does it really matter who portrays leadership on the ice with the 'A'?...it is more advantageous that the leaders show that in the clubhouse. Thats where Iginla would seem to make the most sense...I disagree that Lucic should wear it...give it to Seidenberg or Campbell if Iginla hasn't earned the right to wear it here yet.

My guess would be that he hasnt had a physical yet? Trades would be different than free-agent signings in that aspect possibly.

Chiarelli wants to give Capgeek a break. Announce the Bergeron, Rask extensions and Iginla's all at once. Press confernce at the begining of rookie camp maybe.

Kelly is a great choice for assistant captain.

I understand Kelly is a possibility and that he seems to have played a leadership role in Boston.  I think it would be a poor choice because leaders must produce and I fear another season like last could lead to a diminshed role for him.  I would prefer Lucic or Krejci.  Kelly would be my fall back if you thought the appropriate leader had not presented himself, i.e. you see Errickson taking on an 'A' next year.

I wouldn't read anything into Iginla not being on the web site roster, they do a terrible job keeping it current or creating a better user experience.  Probably more incentive to get the Seguin trade updated, looks pretty bad to have 19 & 49 still on the site after the mega deal.

What about Seidenberg? If they don't play him with Chara then it'll be pretty certain that they would have one of the A's or the C on the ice at almost all times. Don' know much about his dressing room disposition, but that could make sense in terms of the on-ice responsibilities of the captaincy.

Interesting that Eriksson and Iginla have not been assigned numbers yet.  I guess the B's are waiting for their joint press conference.

Iginla will obivously go with #12.  I would assume that Eriksson will ask for Ference's #21, which is fine by me.
