Why is the Power Play so Terrible??

Just wondering how the team seems to play worse with a man advantage.  Julien is a good coach period, and the Bs played great in the playoffs, but the organization as a whole is terrible at the pp.  Its almost psycological at this point.  Its beyond julien.  Somehow I think the Bs will make this a good series, but we all know its the little things that sway it in the end.  By this point major changes need to be made just to shake things up.  its george bush's 2nd term, at anything is better then the current situation.

its been looking better lately but the production simply hasn't been there. that 4 minute PP in the first period was pretty awesome, still can't believe one didn't slip by. If a baseball player drills a line drive at an infielder everytime, you can't really be that disappointed...as long as they get control of the puck in the zone and get a lot of shots i'm not going to complain (didn't they have 8 shots on that first 4 minute PP?)

Team mindset, coddling of unproductive veterans and inability to recognize combinations of players who complement each other offensively (even if it's just on a given night) and have a naturally aggressive mindset, and inability to manipulate players over time by occasionally mixing up top lines to keep things fresh.

    ie "coaching"

There is nothing to show that mixing up lines is productive.  The most productive lines in history have played together game in, game out.  Now, as far as why the PP is not working, I do blame Geoff Ward for that.  The Bruins added another playmaker to the lineup(Kabs) but continue to line up him and Krejci next to each other.  A simple switch of DK and Horton in their positioning would give a second shot threat.  The only time they get anywhere is when this happens through the flow of the pp.  Or when Seguin is in that spot.  Also, taking Chara off his usual spot at the left point when Kabs arrived seems like it was not a good move.  Again, having a big shooter next to your playmaker (DK) gives you space to make plays.  It's simple stuff, but killing the B's.

No puck movement, no player movement, predictable shot selection, and no true QB to run the show. Chara should be moved from screening to the point before he takes one in the ankle...he's too slow to redirect or scoop up pucks on the rebound. Bergy should play the other point and run the PP...put Looch down front...fill in the boards with a combo of Ryder, Seguin, Marchand, Krejci, Kabarle, Peverley.

With the PP being so poor I wonder if they've only been spending time working on 5 on 4's.  I thought the PP has been looking better but to look THAT BAD during a 5 on 3 is pathetic.  Maybe they need to do some work on that too!!!!

I would like to see either Horton (1st PP unit) or Seguin (2nd PP unit) working the left wing wall with pass/shoot options.

1st unit has Krejci down low, 2nd unit has Bergeron or Peverley down low.  I would like to see Marchand make an appearance on the PP as well, fill in the rest.

    1st Unit?:
    Horton- LW Wall
    Krejci- LW Low
    Lucic- Net
    Kaberle- LD
    Chara- RD

    2nd Unit?:
    Seguin- LW Wall
    Peverley- LW Low
    Marchand- Net
    Bergeron- LD
    Seidenberg- RD

Keep it simple, I want to see pucks and bodies to the net.  Run the PP through two guys that will shoot if the Vancouver box sags.

lack of movement not causing the opposition to come out of their setups and only allowing perimeter or point shots is easy to defend....

and that's the few times the b's have been able to set up their pp by winning the draws or by successfully entering the attacking zone....

unfortunately i don't see it getting better any time soon because Homer keeps trying the same things over and over again....

At one point tonight, the 2nd PowerPlay Unit consisted of NO natural centres!? Mark Recchi, predictably, lost an offensive zone draw to Vancouver face-off specialist Manny Malhotra and the puck was out.

    The game isn't that hard
