    Why Wait To Pull Thomas

The Bruins are down two goals, have a powerplay with 3 minutes to go. Instead of pulling Thomas to have a two man advantage, Julien pulls him when the powerplay is over and there is only 45 seconds left in the game. This makes no sense to me, I know you run the risk of going down three goals with an empty net goal, so what if you lose by two or three.

Re: Why Wait To Pull Thomas

The only thing I can think of is that Julien was worried Detroit would just shoot the puck on net from their own zone not having to worry about taking an icing.  Other then that, I have no idea.

Either way, I don't see that as being a legitimate excuse for not pulling Thomas.  Just the only reason I can think of.

I agree with what you are saying, I was thinking the same thing. This would make sense if the Bruins were down by one goal. But like I stated earlier, so what if Detroit scores shorthanded the Bruins were down by two anyway.
