    YASHIN GOING BACK TO THE ISLAND?

    TSN is reporting that Alexi Yashin is in talks with the Islanders, about coming back.
    He says he is only interested in playing for his old team. Snow has confirmed he is interested.
    Only on the Island, would a team be interested in re-signing a player they BOUGHT OUT 4 years ago.
    They are already paying a 2.2M cap hit until 2015, because they wanted to get rid of this guy.
    It seems, the only thing dull on the Island, is the team they put on the ice each year.

    would make sense if snow included that. i mean he's getting a nice check from them as is.

    So many Boston connections. Mike Milbury was GM when they traded for Yashin. Chara was one of the players going to Ottawa. Thanks Mike. We all see that it was part of your cunning plan to bring the Cup back to Boston.Sens also got a 1st round pick which was used to draft Jason Spezza.

    Interestingly the article said St Petersburg wasn't renewing his contract and no other NHL teams were interested in signing him. Snow must be nuts!

    I guess in Russian, Yashin means "the flakier version of Kovalev."  He's been gone from the NHL for four seasons, but he's still the leading point guy from the 1992 draft.  Two years ago, he led the KHL in assists and was third in points - ahead of Radulov (4th).  Not so good last year.  His problem was always motivation, and his motivation was always cash to buy things for Carol Alt.

    OT: part of the Bourque trade, Martin Grenier, was a league leader in PIMs in the KHL two years ago.  Well, that makes that trade worth it....

    As long as Chuckie owns and runs this team, they will always be viewed as, how do you say, 'a disfunctional family'. Adding Yashin will be another indicator of how bad it is there. No wonder Nabokov didn't report. How humiliating was that for him to get picked up by the Islanders? Makes you appreciate JJ a little more each day, no?

    Yashin has no desire to be a Champion. With all the talent and skills he has, and he is a truely gifted player, his lack of intensity in both Ottawa, and NY clearly shows he just doesn't care to do what it takes. Not a Bruin.
