    Yet another tragedy in the hockey world

    Its rapported here in Oslo Norway that a plane carrying the KHL team Lokomotiv Jaroslavl has gone down.
    Among the players on the team are former NHL players like Skrastins and ruslan Salei, Vasicek and Pavol Demitra.
     Also swedish national team goalie Stefan Lifv is in the roster.
    Not any confirmation on who was on the plane.
    Bad times for Hockey.

    Just read about on Yahoo search engine......Very sad news! Brad McCrimmin is listed as their head coach.....No word ifhe was on plane.....If I am not mistaken, (which I am more frequently as years pass) he was a B's draft choice same year as Ray!

    Just read on NHL.com that yes, Brad McCrimmon as well as the entire roster, was on the plane. Supposedly there was two survivors. Not sure if that's accurate.

    It apparently happened while the opening game in KHL was being played.
    The president of KHL went onto the ice in mid game and stopped it.
    They had a silent minute then cancelled the rest of the game.

    Readng now that there's one survivor , but that they're in critical condidition Horrific.

    Pavol Demitra,s agent confirms to the associated press that former blue  has died in the crash

    Shocked to read this. I knew Stefan Liv from his brief time here in Grand Rapids. Prayers go out to all the families and friends of those lost.

    Very sad. i'm shocked with all the travel pro sports teams do in North America that this hasn't happened here...

    Very sad news indeed. I hope this wasn't a result of the khl usuing some cheap airline or cutting corneres on saftey to save money on travel. Thoughts and prayers go out to the players and their familys.

    It's been an unbelievably sad summer for the NHL.  RIP to all of those on the plane.

    Terribly sad. I can't believe that I have gone from complete elation as a Bruins fan to complete heart sinking all in the span of less than 3 months!
