Zero justification to playing Chris Kelly anymore

I didn't think it was possible, but he's done LESS than nothing for this team. Why is he not even a consideration to sit?  It's always been between Paille, Ryder and Seguin, yet this guy gets to go every game, no matter WHAT!!!

    Why....why....why?

A tad over 2 million for a defensive specialist with as much offensive skill as I would bring to the team...ZERO. Can we really keep this guy in the future given the fact Campbell makes HALF of what he makes and puts up nearly similar numbers?

In a game like tonite Seguin would have been wristing those pucks on Price all night.

I agree at the moment Kelly is a total flop, along with Kaberle and Peverly has shown some flash but not enough.
I hope they prove me wrong .  I'm basing this on about 20 games and only 1 playoff game.  There's 3-5 games they can change my opinion.

Did anyone else notice how many of the Bruins' shot were right at the "C" on Price's stomach.  These guy realize if they shoot the puck right at the goalie, it's not going to go in right?

    ahh...  yah...

Gee, are you an NHL coach???

I will bet you are not.

Guess what?  I noticed exactly the same thing.

How about that guy that walks around behind the players?

Ya think a guy who gets paid to notice this stuff would make an in game adjustment for this??

Fer Chrissakes everybody on this board from trolls to baseball fans to me to you noticed this - and something should have been done.

    SOMETHING!!

I am not an NHL coach.  I am also not a paramedic.

If a see a freakin car crash I know something needs to be done, you know that, cactus tony know that and probably none of us are NHL coaches or paramedics.

And we all know that something had to happen and didn't.

This is becuse Price was allowed to be square to the shooter all night. The B's were not paying the price to go in the dirty areas to make it difficult for him...

Because he's a defensive specialist with experience ! It was by not by chance that Montreal had fewer scoring chances than Boston in game one. It was the defensive work of lines 2,3,and 4 !

Get a grip  ...of reality !

They were all out of their element...That's what happens when you instruct
big hitting players to calm it down a notch and avoid taking penalties that could cost us the game. They all looked too nervous to be effective. No one except Marchand was willing to play a rough and tumble game and risk taking penalties.

Or maybe when they had the lead they dummified the game like clod would.  Easier to do with a lead.

    Very good analysis !

You know, I really didn't mind Marchand taking that penalty.  Sure the Bruins were shorthanded for 2mins but that hit on Plekanec will remain.  He won't be as comfortable the next time .

Chris Kelly for a 2nd round pick was Chia making a deal just to make a deal. Horrible. Chia must be on the same page with CJ because a player like Kelly was redundent on this team when it is clear this team needs more skill.

The Kelly move was a fit's Juliens system move. I really feel CJ is on thin ice but I get the feeling Chia may not be far behind. Neely must be fuming.

Kelly is a 3rd line center with playoff experience ! Nothing more, nothing less.

If you believe , as I do, that playoff experience is important in the NHL, then you'll agree that Kelly was needed ,even thoguh we have Whitfield in the minors.

Re: Zero justification to playing Chris Kelly anymore

I thought when Peverley was coming across the net it was a perfect opportunity for Kelly to crash the net and push that puck past Price.  Peverley was working hard to get the puck into traffic, I don't think he was set on shooting, I think he shot when he was coming across the other side and losing position.

I really thought with a Bruin or two crashing the goal that this could have been one of the best opportunities of the night.  In stead it looked to me like Kelly pulled up 3-5 feet short and the only thinkg I could think of was he didn't want to take it off Peverley's stick?  Anyone else have thoughts on this play?  I'm not even 100% certain it was Kelly can anyone confirm or deny?

Not only is Kelly not a "two-way player" but he's too slow. One idiot here blasted me a coule of months ago 'coz I challenged Chia's claims about Kelly. Chia likes to acquire guys with little offensive resume and claim they can score or make plays. If what Kelly does could not be filled by a Providence player the scouting and/or development needs change.

I think Charelli has done a good job. I think the heat should go on the coach for management of the personnel. Claude could do a much better job. In my eyes it should either be Paille or Kelly in the lineup and not both. If it were me, Id sit Kelly and play Seguin. Hed be big boost for our non existant power play and he would definitely beef up the third line offensively.
