[QUOTE]The heat are weak at the PG position. They not real strong in the post, not saying they can't score there. They just don't have the size to match up with some of the bigger teams.

Over the last 20 years the Lakers have won 5, the Spurs 4, the Bulls 6.... the Pistons, Rockets, Cs, and Pistons have won titles....... Parker and Billups are the only, what I would consider, good point guards that have won titles.
The rest are BIGS and WINGS.... the Lakers are looking at a 3peat and there is nobody on the planet that would suggest it has anything to do with Fisher. In their last 3peat it was ummmm..... whomever.... the Bulls won 6 of 8 and their point guards were ummmm Armstrong, Paxson, Kerr.... the Cs carried a 2nd year Rondo to a title.... only Parker and Billups had any real impact on their title teams....... I think the point guard position is vastly overrated in today's game.... most of the best point guards in the league are not even close to winning a title. I would go so far as to say that most of the best point guards in the league make sure that their teams are not able to allow their team to get what I would consider the players that will allow them to obtain the players that will win them titles. Chris Paul destroyed the Lakers over and over again and lost 4 to 2, of course D West being injured hurt them but when all was said and done it has nothing to do with Chris Paul, it has to do with Bynum, Gasol, Odom, and Kobe.... and ummmmm.... no point guards.
I think what we have seen is that guards and forwards have controlled the point of attack and that the 3 point shooters have enabled teams to win titles especially if they have a legit BIG. Kobe has 5 rings, none without Shaq and Pau. Parker and Manu have 4, none without Timmy. Wade has his but not without Shaq. Billups has his but not without 'sheed, Big Ben, Prince, etc. Michael has his because of Scottie and a whole bunch of guys including Horace Grant which of course allowed Penny and Shaq be there when Michael was suspended, the other year was Patrick and a bunch of guys, who did they play - Hakeem (no not that Hakeem Kareem David Patrick Perkins) and Clyde the Glide, etc.......
In the last 20 years the point guard is generally irrelevant..... there is a team that will go for a 3peat and the point guard could easily be replaced by at least 15 other guys in the league, so when we look at the Cs going into the finals 3 of the last 4 years and somehow attribute some of it to Rondo it is simply a joke as far as I am concerned. Put a dozen other point guards in the place of Rondo and they are no worse off and in a lot of cases better and maybe would have won the title last year....... the biggest shot in the finals last year was Fisher hitting a huge jumper off glass..... Rondo has heard that there is a backboard but generally he focusses on barely catching the rim and causing rebound opportunities for his friend that is no longer on the team.
So somehow if Rondo is going to be the guy, it will be a new trend. The one in which a vastly overrated point guard that cannot shoot will be more imporant than the best players on his team..... let's just hope that is not the case.
