Sadly, Boston had a great record in the bush league days of no 3pt shots, an 8 team league (lmao), winning your conference(lol) meant you went through to the conference finals(lol) and many other characterizations which made the NBA back then a bush league. Roll forward to the NBA/ABA merge and in particular the Magic/Bird years and the NBA as we know it kicked off hugely. In that time, the real franchises have stood up and made their mark in a league now studded with the best players from around the globe, unlike the bush league days.

Oh Elfie What is sad is in those Bush league days they beat and humiliated and destroyed us. We will never catch the great Celtics. We have never beat a fully healthy Celtics team in the finals we are lucky they are not 12-0 against us.

We Laker fans have much to be grateful for.

    We're number two!!!

And the Celtics have Cap space and multiple number one picks next year and KG wanting to come back cheap. My Lakers will never catch you guys.

    Rico,

if you trade Gasol for two solid younger starters, get a mature/healthy bynum, get a new coach and keep sending Kobe on his mysterious Germany trips... then you could leapfrog SA/Memphis and lose to OKC in a few West finals before Kobe finally retires

Thats a lot of if's tho

The Celtics are in the same boat with Chi/Mia despite being a better team now than LA and having tons of cap space and draft picks...
yeah the new rivalry is tied at 1-1 But the Celtics won by 39 in a close-out game 6 (as I lit cigars in the upper level) and LA won by, what was it? 3-4? in game 7 (as the refs took away the integrity of the game and the MVP shot 6-24) ha I say advantage Boston
    Posted by rameakap
And where was Boston in 2009?
Watching LA take home the title.
They have watched LA play in the Finals many times over the last 12 years.

The Lakers are the best team in the second half of NBA history

The Celtics are the best team in the first half

    17-16

    9-3

    131-92 (hahaha)

The Celtics are the best team IN THE ENTIRE NBA HISTORY

If Elven and the misguided and wrong John Hollinger want to pretend the NBA started in 1976 then they can make-up what they want in their own minds. I guess I'll pretend the Babe Ruth Yankees don't count then (hahaha)

    The FACT remains

Boston is the greatest franchise in the history of the NBA... when you pass us in titles then you can stake the claim... duh

    hahahaha

Elven is getting hammered with his idiocy today

    the #'s that matter are:

    17 vs. 16

    9 vs. 3

    131-92

    6-24 MVP gifted by refs

    Celtics greatest franchise ever

2012 Celtics will go father in the playoffs than LA

Oh my friend, if what you said was even halfway accurate then I would be happy, but unfortunately, you must have missed the 2 games this season when the Lakers dismantled our beloved Celtics. I'm sorry, but you are not making much sense. The Lakers are clearly better than us this year.
