    Being a 6th man is not a demotion !!!

    Copied and Pasted:

"A good 6th Man can come in many forms: as a scoring specialist, as a defensive specialist, or as an all-around player. The two things that good 6th Men have in common, though, are (i) an ability to turn a game’s momentum in their team’s favor through their skills and energy and (ii) an ability and willingness to take a leadership role on a team’s reserve unit. A 6th Man is a team’s first player off the bench and, as such, is called upon to set a tone for the others on the bench, and by extension for his team as a whole."

Considered the best 6th man ever was our own John Havilchek and there was no question he was skilled to be a starter and his age was not factor in this role. In fact, Kevin McHale was a 6th man when he first  came into the league and then joined the starting lineup with Bird & Parish and returned to a 6th man role in his later years.

So, I can see Pierce being with us another 2-3 years but needing to accept being a 6th man, and a valuable one too. KG would most definitely be a great one too, but unfortunately, we need his height so he needs start & play more minutes than he should. If we can get 1-2 big men next year, KG too can play another 2 years as a 6th man !!!

He would be great a two guard and three. The problem is what if Green plays well one night and off the other when he starts.  He just can't seem to have several good games in a row.  We should get him in the starting line up and find out though.

Our problem is not Pierce as a 6th man. Our problem is Green as a starter. If Green is your primary scorer than most likely you next pick is top 3.

Green did make some good plays in Utah. Pierce as usual was the MAN! This is a team effort not a hero game!

    Agree.

While uncle Jeff has moves like Worthy, he's not consistent.

He needs to be given the opportunity to start.  He probably would improve with more playing time.
