In Response to Re: 1 for 5 free throw shooting, another record for Rondo?! : The writer is sufficiently and carefully ambiguous in his assessments  such that there is something there for everyone... thereby lending itself to mass appeal. It amounts to a  lot of  superficial  happy talk that doesn't generate disagreement from me or from anyone else I suspect. If he begins to rank PGs....  then careful scrutiny and analysis becomes possible, not what the author had in mind IMHO. Mostly glossy pics, very little copy. That's SI. The soft porn of the swimsuit section gets the most hits. Otherwise there is less to SI than meets the eye. Pud

Yes, lets get to the bottom of this one.  The SI writer is a basketball authority and we MUST dissect everything he writes.  We HAVE TO get to the bottom of this one.

    Good work guys!

Congrat to Rajon, ranked number 1 PG by CNN ahead of DWill and CP4. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/multimedia/photo_gallery/1011/nba.top.point.guards/content.1.html

Is that the same sports illustrated that said the Lakers are the marquee basketball franchise?! Go figure.

Well, the Lakers are the marquee NBA franchise.

They're the defending champs.  I'm pretty sure the NBA title goes through LA.  Utah and San Antonio are scary, but until they unseat the Lakers in the playoffs the Lakers are the best team with the best player.  Kobe is a machine and Gasol is a certified beast.  Odom keeps improving, people love Derek Fisher, strenghtened bench, returning solid big center...what haven't they got?

It's armageddon.  This is a great NBA season.  Too bad the officials can't be put in Guantanamo Bay until the season is over.
