2 Ways to Win a Basketball Game

Limit your opponent's points or you outscore your opponent. In other words you can win with defense or offense. The difference is when you try the defensive route you still have to score more points than your opponent. If you're an offensive team like the Suns you just have to score and score and score!

The Celtics can do both now that they have more offensive players. Before the Perk trade the Celts couldn't beat teams with offense. When 2 of the Big 3 are having off nights you know it's going to be a Celtic loss. Right now the Celts have more offense with Krstic and Green. But the Celts are also giving up more points since the Perk trade.

In my opinion it's easier to teach Krstic and Green how to play Celtic defense than teaching Perk how to catch the ball in traffic, convert it into 2 points, and make FTs if he's fouled.

So what your saying is the team that scores the most points wins?

No.  He's saying the team that scores the fewest points loses.

Still trying to justify the trade, huh P34?  Most of us buy it.  Let's move on.  I think we all can understand the obvious.

The issue now is how long does it take for the team to start playing better defense?  Maybe not as good as the old defense, but better than we're playing right now!

    I wonder who would win...

The team with the "score more points than your opponent wins" strategy?

    or

The team with the "if your opponent scores less points than you, they will lose" strategy?

We may need Che to figure thisone out

but seriously, if we look at the offense focused teams like Golden State, Phoenix and now the Knicks...they don't consistenly do as well as defensive minded teams.  You can have off shooting nights, but defense is the same basic positioning and body movement.
I think its safe to say that the best teams will have both a strong offense and strong defense.  However, defense and the ability to shut down during crucial moments becomes especially true in the playoffs.

That is correct. Great teams are good on offense and defense.

Before the Perk trade the Celts were only a strong defense team. After the trade the Celts have been scoring more points, the Celts scored over a 100 points in 4 of the last 6 games.

Maybe we can get Crystic to bulk up and add 50 lbs before the finals.

Maybe Manny can hook him up.

Ha Ha, so where can Krstic find HGH or roids?

Can anyone tell him where to go?

I think Chris Johnson has some upside to him, but he has to gain more pounds! Get him on Big Baby's calorie intake per day!

Championship teams are also good at the FT line.
