Not sure why the Rockets would help the lakers.

Also not sure Paul, koME, Peace, Odom and Bynum is better than last year's team!

Are you stupid??? CP3 on any team makes them better! Why do you think Danny is trying so hard t get him, cause he's better than Rondo and Rondo is a better player than Fisher.

    Ugh.

It is not often that big stars get moved, but it seems all big stars do the same thing when they are being shopped around for a new team.  KG did the same thing.  They do it because they can, they have a lot of power and it is their livelihood and career that they are looking after.  I would do the same thing if I have the power and leverage.

KG had a reason to not want to be shipped to Boston, the team was 24-58 the previous year, minnesota wasnt much worse then boston at the time, now paul is just being a tool and trying for the spotlight in NY with a bunch of ball hogs...maybe if carmelo and amare learned how to pass the ball, they wouldnt have gotten swept out and embarassed by the C's last year...that knicks team is a joke

And Gasol is better than Odom - look don't respond to me anymore if all you can do is hurl insults.  That would then have NO bench at all - wonder if you can understand that.  In a 66 game season, a bench is VERY important, so having Fisher, Kapono and Barnes as your ONLY bench players would worry me a little!!

What is the difference?  Didn't KG wanted LA or whatever city at the time?  KG had his reasons, Paul has his reasons.  Many players prefer NY over Boston, and we all know the reason why, and it is obviously about $.

Are you kidding?!...last year you guys constantly ripped the Lakers guards...Fisher and Blake. This would be a SERIOUS upgrade. And as the article points out, they still have the pieces to bring in Dwight "Superman" Howard.

the trade makes even more sense to the lakers because he is more likely to sign an extension there and DH coule be lured there when the season is over

Omg how can you be so delusional?! First you commented that "Also not sure Paul, koME, Peace, Odom and Bynum is better than last year's team!" Where did you mention anything about the bench??

Secondly, you honestly think CP3 goes to the Lakers on a 1 year deal? This is a long term deal for him and whether he wins (presuming he goes to the Lakers) this season or 1 after is the relevant point. Not just this 1 66-game season! To add even more pain, DH is gotta be sitting in Orlando thinking he has a log jam in the east with Miami/Chi town so why not set up a similar situation with the Lakers with Kobe/CP3? Any top player would sit up and take notice of that deal.

    Ugh.

You mean Bynum AND Odom for Howard and Turkoglu?
So, no Gasol, no Odom and no Bynum?

Yep, SERIOUS upgrade - oh yeah, I agree 100% - yep - just hand them the trophy right now!!

Going to NY, or LA makes him all about the money?  He goes to either of those teams they will become instant contenders, and help recruit other players going forward.

The strength of the lakers last year was being able to bring Odom off the bench.  Who comes off the bench this year, with him starting?

Paul, koME, Odom and Bynum all have to play big mins - Bynum's done that before, right?

if he goes to LA than i will respect that, but NY is a joke, and wanting to go to that team over LA or BOS just shows how money hungry he is

Amen! Anyone who thinks they can win it all with Amare and 'Melo is nuts.

knicks are making a good move by getting chandler, and i think amare and melo are terrific talents, but they arent "team" players, until they buy in to the concept of "team", they will be knocked out in the 1st/2nd round every year regardless of who their point guard is

Even if you disagree that acquiring CP3 and DH would make the Lakers better, you can't argue that the moves would set up the transition to the post-Kobe Lakers years nicely.

Its bold moves like these that have limited the down years for the Lakers.

Agreed. With the best pg and the best center and Kobe on the wing, the Lakers will not only get #17 but they will go past that soon enough.

DA needs to step up and make some bold moves himself.
