The pattern has been the same for several games that we lost to mediocre teams.  Let the teams hang around closed and then wither and fold at the end.  It is a sign of an old team.  Maybe we should start sitting those old players at the end of the games and give the young guys more responsibilities?  Nah, oh well, that would never going to happen at this point.

    Pierce 5-17 for 12 points.

That is the problem right there. Pierce has been playing terrible of late. Rondo had 17 points 13 rebounds and 7 assists. Rondo will not be traded.

and Rondo had the WORST +/_ differential on the entire team. Why? becuase he had 5 turnovers, two critical steals in the final minutes that cost us the game and his man scored 40!!

So? He still played better than Pierce.

Not according to the +/- differential that measures such things...and you can't be selective on which stats you measure Rondo by.  and I wonder how many points Pierce's man scored... probably not close to 40!!

Unfortunately, the final decision whether to trade Rondo or not belongs to the Celtics ownership group. Rondo is an All-Star and the assist leader in the NBA. His jersey is one of the most saleable. He has developed a large following of fans around the world. From a business standpoint, it makes little sense to trade Rondo unless the Celtics receive a player of equal standing in return.

Well if we are going to look at +- differential Rondo's is third best on team behind KG and Sullinger. So clearly he is not the problem by your own stat.

So we just want to make money? If we bite the bullet for a couple of years while rebuilding we can win and make money. Rondo at the helm equals middle of the pack. Celtics = banners no?

I'm talking for the year btw. A smart Gm doesn't go by one game, but by trends. and most don't make mid year panic trades.

Fierce is playing Rondo by two different perspectives to cover his own A.

He says that Rondo won't be traded for financial reasons...then tries to weakly defend his play and contribution to the team as the reason...then says he will be traded but later?

Common man, come out of Rondo's closet!

What do you really think about Rondo's overall play, his ability to lead THIS team and whether we can and should do better.

Lets go ahead and retire Rondo a wee bit early then.... and hang  his number from the rafters. A win/win situation.

Like I said, Rondo's not going to be traded this season. I know he's not perfect, but trading him now only makes the Celtics worse.

But the Celtics can explore trading Rondo in the offseason. Not saying he's going to be traded in the offseason, just saying that there's a bigger chance of Rondo getting traded after the season. Right now it's unrealistic to think Rondo's going to be traded.

So, you think Rondo might get traded soon?

Odd Headline to the thread.  So 64 pecent of people don't want To trade rondo.

I dont really get why the fact that a minority wants him gone is supposed to mean anything.

Not that I care.  this team needs to be blown up.

    Bingo!

Guess that's Eldunker's way of manipulating the facts.

HA!  Pretty shallow thinking...It means that more than a third of the fans, WHICH IS ALOT, want to trade their own player who was voted a starter on the all star team, the proclaimed team leader and one of the highest assists in the hiostory of the NBA and some here think is the best PG in the league!!  It means that intelligent fans know that Rondo's deficiencies hurt the Celtics DESPITE ALL THAT CAMAFLOGE.

You know how other cities would vote on their starting all stars...probably <1% would want to trade them, not 36% !!!

Fierce is certainly hiding out in Rondo's closet doing God knows what.

Very strange indeed, particularly after his Occupy Rondo fiasco a year ago.
