How did we do when we played the Heat and the Clippers with Rondo?
Re: 4-0

We look like a team again, the ball and players are moving better and some sets with more than one option are being ran. Rondo was killing us with the style of play without three true all stars to back him up. The team we have now has their best opportunity to win when we share the ball, and look for the shot or penetration and dish. Paul still looks sluggish in the isolations, and we would even be better if we ran fewer isolations. We are much better defensively because all 5 are giving a lot of effort. Players are gaining confidence as they are included in the game. The bench is playing very well. We may not win the title but at least we are revelant again. Teams will tighten up a bit when they plays us now. We do need to acquire a good defensive rebounding center. We have no one below KG that can defend and rebound. Our guards are fine. Our forwards are fine. We need a difference maker center to back up KG. At least we are fun to watch again. Doc more than Rondo was to blame for the way we were playing earlier. Doc should have required Rondo to defend 100% of the time and motivated him to move the ball. Rondo would actually make us better if he defended all the time and moved the ball.

Win, lose or draw..... this is Celtic basketball that is fun to watch... and we will win more than we lose.
Did you hear TommyH today exclaiming that he'd been waiting for years to see this type of up-tempo, move the ball around, fast breaking basketball... and now its here.
Well what changed all of the sudden, Tommy?
Don't think I heard you say.

Tommy being the good company man won't say where the problem lies. He probably can't afford to speak his mind.
That doesn't stop the rest of us from speaking our minds.
This entire Rondo era has been simply ghastly... with lots of blame to go around for how he has been allowed/encouraged/enabled to run this team/brand into the F-N ground.
What does ownership think of all of this craziness?

it's amazing how good a team can look when they home games against 2 very bad teams and a clips team w/o their best player. the heat game on the other hand was a great, well deserved win.

The Celtics have to play a much tougher Raptor team on Wed. and then come home the next day to play the Lakers. Also when the Celtics play the Lakers in LA it will be the second game of a back to back. Talk about unfair scheduling. Someone in Stern's office is a Laker fan.

is not the competition, is the way they are competing. Very different. Yes the Clips are without their PG but then again, arent they suppose to be better than the C's specially with Sullinger and Rondo out??? This is NOT the same team we saw most of the first half of the season.
It also magnifies how weak Doc is as a coach. He allowed Rondo to drag the offense down to sooth his super ego. He allowed Rondo to play lazy, poor defense cause DOcs intimidated by Rondo and cant criticize the diva..
Now that Rondo is out, Doc fell into the right game plan... as usual Doc finds success by stumbling into it. Dont be surprised he messes up a good thing either...
Now that we're playing good, exciting ball.. making a push towards the playoffs in spite of losing Sully... expect something to possibly disrupt it.. maybe KG getting traded or even just the rumor flying around about it///

Paul Pierce was mired in the slump of his life before Rondo went down. Put the current PP in those games and the Celts will not just be riding a 4 games win streak. It will be a longer streak.
For all the talk about how Lee and Terry are playing better, no one seems to have noticed that Paul is out of his funk. Perhaps Paul's funk was Rondo's fault.

Terry's resurgence is coming at the best possible time, in the wake of Rondo being lost for the season after tearing his right ACL. But the timing might not be a total coincidence. After Wednesday's win over the Kings, Terry suggested the Celtics' new spread offense -- employed since Rondo went down a week ago -- is "more conducive" to his game, and he reinforced that notion after Sunday's victory.
Why is Boston's new-look offense working for him?
"Just because it's much more open," Terry said. "It's free-wheeling and the defense can't sit on particular plays. This league is great with scouting and they get used to you and they kind of know your tendencies. So in this offense it's very unpredictable. We don't know who's going to get the shot, but we know we're going to get a good one."
Movement -- of the ball and the players -- is a key factor in Boston's new scheme. While things occasionally got stagnant when Rondo was playing and certain sets broke down, the Celtics now have no choice but to move the ball if they want a decent shot at the basket. Without set plays with multiple options being run, there's more freedom for players to create their own openings, be it through floor spacing, pick-and-roll play or crisp ball movement.
"It's a lot of fun," Terry said. "Winning's fun, so we've just got to continue to do the things that we need to do to be successful every night. That's play defense, get out in transition, and spread the ball around."
Added Pierce, "You've got a lot of guys who can knock down shots, drive the ball, slash to the basket -- Jason, Jeff, (Leandro) Barbosa. It's great. We put four smalls out there at times, one big, and we drive the ball. We set picks, make the extra passes and when you've got a combination of those guys who can knock down shots, especially from the 3-point line and drive the ball to the basket, it's such a hard thing to defend when you spread the court like that."
