    a potential three headed monster?

sully, fab,ko?look i know fab is a work in progress but if they don't trade him look for his minutes to increase this season.it would be very interesting to see how they work together for an extended amount of minutes.

what has fab done to make anyone think he could play center in the nba at this point?  did you watch the summer league games?  overall, he did not play well, and it does not get easier against nba regulars.

The KO at 3 part of this post is interesting.  That would set up a huge mismatch and allow a non-Fab center in the paint.

KO cannot play the 3. He has below average lateral speed for a 5 let alone the notion of the 3. Stop this talk right now please.

    Agreed Hops...

Fab deserves nothing other than another D-league season. He isn't even rebuilding-team worthy and that should say something.

Have you not seen Melo's game at Orlando? May be if your thinking of Celtics making it to the bottom of the standing then it's a brilliant idea. If there is a taker for Melo he shoud be shipped ura mismo!

Melo is still not ready for the NBA.

Maybe another year of D-League action and another stint in the summer league next year.

Melo needs another year of work. Very raw. I wouldn't be so quick to give up on him though. We expected him to be a long term project. Patience.

Re: a potential three headed monster?

No, Melo is horrible. His lack of improvment in summer league was very discouraging. His contract is guaranteed for this year only, so he better figure it soon. U can definetily forget  about him being part of any 3 headed monster, hell be lucky to even stay in the league.

As for KO and Sully, both have shown tremendous promise. Both r very skilled, versatile and unselfish players. My only concern is how we'll be able to get both of them on the floor at the same time.  KO is clearly not a center unless he bulks up another 10-20 lbs and sully is far too short to play center as well.  We are going to be very undersized in the front court either way we go. Most likely we will play sully at center against the bulky bigs (hibbert, brook lopez etc) and start ko at center when we go against the heat (bosh at center) etc.

This three headed monster is a myth that will require two years to know what we really have.

Sully has promise.  (but lacks experience and may not even start)

Oynyk is completely unproven.  (summer league does not make a nba star)

Melo isn't anywhere near ready.  (requires another year+ in D league before we'll know)

Starting five: 1-Rondo, 2-Lee or Brooks, 3 -Green, 4-Olynyk, 5-Iverson. While Sully does not start, he would play as many minutes as the starters and likely be on the floor at the end of games. With Sully and Bradley coming off the bench, we can use all type of lineups for tall vs small, defensively-oriented vs. offensively oriented, etc. Just a few ideas.

We should never forget that we have a new coach, and appears he is a good one.He could work with Melo and give him a chance that Doc never did.

Playing him would helps the celts to a nice position in the lottery. Please, dont try to be the 8th seeded again. We Have another Brazilian coming, and appears that is much better than Melo at this point.

Re: a potential three headed monster?

From what Melo showed in the summer league last year and how much less he showed in the summer league this year I am not sure that there is a place in the NBA for him ever.

Guys who are 'projects' one year should not fall below that status 12 months later, and Melo accomplished such a fall.

He was out of shape, too heavy and showed no new improvement on his offensive game while his defensive game seemed at least a half step slower.

I would much rather see the second round pick from this year get the opportunity to have 12 months of intense coaching and see where he is by next summer which will likely put him in better standing than what Melo currently has.

Melo needs to be considered as an expiring contract and send him somewhere in a deal before pre-season begins in September.
