Any way Doc actually stays all 5 years?

I was wondering if you think maybe this "long term" deal could be used to attract free agents to play here. I just dont understand how yo go from one year of possibly not wanting to come back to taking on a 5 year extension the next. You have to wonder if this is a way to lure the high profile free agents that clearly respect Doc and once the core has been retooled and signed for the future he can step away at that point. Does this make any sense or am I looking way too deep into this?

Yes, you're way over-thinking this.  Doc loves to coach, gets along well with Danny, likes Boston, and has settled his family issues.  People often overlook the coach-GM relationship -- but that's vital to long-term job satisfaction/security.

Doc and Danny will find away to keep us in contention. I do not know if it will translate into a title but they will make a move. Some pan out some dont. There are plenty of GMs and coaches that would love to have that one title.
