Fierce who would we have to include, Collins?
Collins' trade value is only .854k. So that would be 11.854m, still not enough.
Unless you include Jeff Green, Green and Bass or Green and Lee, then Al Jefferson is out of our price range.
You are correct about the monies involved. The only way we can get AJ is if it involves Rondo & pieces or our beloved Cap'n(Cap'n for Cap'n anyone?). Although I advocated for Big Al earlier this yr., I believe Big Al would disrupt the chemistry that is currently germinating. He is McHale minus defense. Also, AJ will remain a notch below elite because he shies from contact on his shots(thereby eliminating 4-5 points per game; 80% plus foul shooter).

How old is Dalembert? I can't believe some think Dalembert is the guy to get us over the hump. LOL! Isn't he has old as Collins?
Surely we can do better than Dalembert

If Bass is the only player the Celtics will trade then even a Dalembert might not be possible.
Dalembert is not the guy who will get us over the hump. He's simply an upgrade over Bass.
The Celtics already have 2 very good big man, KG and Sully, but the Celts need 1 more and Bass or Wilcox is not the answer.

You didn't see the last 5 minutes when Doc played Wilcox and KG together?
That didn't work either.
That was stupid as well.
Garnett, Wilcox, or Collins should be in the game at all times to defend the rim.
When you see an undersized rookie forward playing center for the Celtics, the game is over.
It doesn't work, yet Rivers keeps doing it.
Kirk do you understand the season is over if KG goes down? And that Collins and Wilcox do not provide in a fraction of what he does? Without KG we are a sub .500 team. Can't you see that?
If KG goes down it's over with or without Gortat.
Wilcox, Collins, and Melo can backup KG in the playoffs.
We don't need a trade.
The point is that with another big man of some skill the chances of keeping KG healthy are that much better. It is essential for a playoff run.

He's 31 and an excellent rebounder and shot blocker. The Celtics could get him without losing much.
You should use google if you don't know much about a player.

He's 31YO old...here's his stats,etc.
http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/d/dalemsa01.html
here ia Collins career info
http://www.basketball-reference.com/players/c/collija04.html
since 2010 Dalembert has averaged about 22Min a game,50% FG%, 75 FT%,7 rebound and 7 points per game AND plays very good defense at CENTER.
since 2010 Collins has averaged about 12 min a game (while playing HALF the teams games),42% FG, 57% FT,2 rebound and less than 2 pointe per game while playing good defense at center (though pretty slow).
now you may be correct that Dalembert is not worth trading someone like Lee for (especially sonce he's on the last year of his deal).
but comparing him to Collins, is not really fair to a player of Dalemberts ability either.

We have won five games in a row. We are the hottest team in the league right now.
We have Wilcox coming back and Melo in the wings.
No need to change anything.
Who said anything about changing anything now?
The trade deadline is Feb. 21.
Right now the Celtics don't really need to make a trade because they're playing. But time will come when KG will burn out if the Celts don't get another big man.
Fab Melo? When will he play for the Celts? Do you know when?
Wilcox? He's not the answer, Kirk.

Don't be an idiot, Kirk. We all know the Celts need to rebound better and every time KG comes out, the Celts are so weak defensively.
Wilcox is not answer. It's not like he hasn't played a single game for the Celts this season. He has played in 23 games and the only positive thing he has done is score on alley-oops.
Wilcox is neither a good rebounder or shot-blocker.

You will be the first person to give up on the team if they dip below 500 again.
The Celtics need another big. That is patently obvious.

I think the Nets have won 6 in a row. That is hotter than 5 isn't it? We have probably faced better competition though.
You think Melo is just going to show up and start being a factor? I would be surprised if he sees any time at all this year. I was for him coming up when we were playing bad only because we couldn't play any worse. Well we are playing better and don't hold your breath on Melo because he isn't ready for the show yet. Wish I could eat my words. Your putting your hopes on a guy that I don't think has even played a real game yet?
Wilcox is just a minor piece. Better than Collins. What has Wilcox done that makes you think he is a factor? Not that great on defense, doesn't rebound that well. Nice spot player though that runs the floor. From the looks of his all time stats he is hurt a large part of the time. Either that or the team he was on doesn't play him.
Kirk you need to wake up and smell the coffee. I don't think anyone is wanting wholesale changes but I don't want to be stuck playing small ball all the time. Do you?

I can see it now, we are playing the Knicks, they have Melo, Chandler, and Amare on the floor, we have Pierce, KG, and Bass. We are getting outrebounded big time and lose the game.
Next thread, "Doc always goes small and it never works, Doc just doesn't get it"

There is still a big hole up front. The Celtics need a guy that block shot, board and get do that for 20 mintues a game, and fill in capably for KG if he gets injured. Dalembert is that guy.
in 25 minutes a game career he averages 8 boards and 2 blocks a game. The Celtics have no one of thier roster that can produce like that in those areas. Sully can board okay but with his size can not ever be a strong interior presense on D.
DANNY IS HANING OUT IN PARKING LOTS OF BIG AND TALL MENS STORES!!!!!
HE IS DESPERATE TO FILL THAT BIG HOLE!!!!!!!!!!!

You know, this reminds me of that time you posted about the Lakers were almost at 500 remember? You were so proud. Hang in there maybe next month they can make it back to 500. And the 8th seed is not out of the question if other teams have a few injuries. You won't be contending for a championship like the Celtics but you guys were never in our class anyway.
