    Ariza to HOU

Nice pickup for the Rox.  Will they match Parsons now?

What does this mean for us?

It means WAS cannot afford Deng.  Jeff Green, anyone?  He's from there, and always plays well there.  With Wall and Beal, he'll be at best 3rd option.  And he can opt out after this year.

This may be a nice time for Danny to see what WAS will give us for Uncle Jeff.

If no Bynum injury, no Gasol trade - last word!!

Most probably it's going to involve Otto Porter.

Nice to see nobody wanting to play for the Lakers.  Are they getting draft picks for taking Lin?  Or has that dropped down to cash only?

Once Deng decides, the market for Green and Bass will become clear.

BTW, all those that are  jumping about Green's contract should consider Ariza getting 8.6M.  Danny has done quite an astute job of estimating and managing his situation.

    Bingo!

Dallas could also be interested in Green if they don't get Parsons.

Him not being have overpaid doesn't mean he is good. The two things have nothing to do with each other. He is an average player, but he now has an average contract as well.

OK, I understand.  But how do you get draft picks?

I understand your dislike for Green.  He has been exasperating.  He lacks consistency.  My issue is blaming Danny for having him on the roster.  When Green was signed, Danny did not have many options.  He tried to go after David West and did not get him.  But he was signing a supporting cast member and Green was his best option.  Even today, GMs are giving out these contracts because they have to maximize the return on their current big bets.

San Antonio is flavor of the day.  When Miami was on top, it was the 3 super stars formula.  San Antonio has been anchored by Tim Duncan.  He was a 1st. overall pick.
