Suns decide to cut Beasley after one season due to his arrest for marijuana possession ... the team wants to hold players to higher expectations to become an "elite team." Will the Lakers (no longer elite) who once pursued Beasley get back in the sweepstakes for his THC riddled services once he clears waivers?
And if the Suns will stretch $2.3MM over three years why wouldn't the C's stretch Bogan's $5MM or less (if buyout negotiated) over three years as well to open a roster spot and cut $3.3MM off their cap?
The Suns have negotiated a buyout and will stretch the 2014-15' buyout over three years ... Don't see why the entire amount can't be stretched over 5 years (2X2Yrs+1yr) other than Suns can do 1st year w/o affecting their cap since they have the room.
2013-14 contract reduced from $6 million to $4.66 million, a savings of $1.34 million on salary cap and wallet
2014-15 contract reduced from $3 million guaranteed to $2.3 million, which will be stretched per the CBA over three seasons at $766K per year
