    Beasley shopped hard!

Apparently, the Wolves want to go with Derrick Williams at SF.  They are shopping Michael Beasley hard:

    http://hoopshype.com/rumors/tag/michael_beasley

While the Celtics have some interest, I found it interesting that he was offered to the lakers, and they turned it down for luxury tax purposes.

So, even non-lakers fans know what it would take to make their team good - but the ownership is not going to do it..........and I hope we get him, because then we can ALL say................................go ahead, Fierce, you do the honors!!

In Response to Re: Beasley shopped hard!:
In Response to Beasley shopped hard! : Before the season started, CP3 was Laker bound. All the Lakers had to do was take in more contracts. But Jimmy refused. The Lakers backed out of the deal when they were asked to take in more contracts/salaries. Now, the Lakers don't want Beasley for a 1st round pick because they don't want to pay additional luxury tax. I mean a pick in the early 20s is not worth Michael Beasley?  So it's pretty obvious, the Lakers and Jimmy Buss will not spend more money on the Lakers. That's why they're going to trade Pau Gasol, because trading Pau Gasol would save them money now and in the next 2 years.

Yet another reason I think no one wants to deal with them!!   If Pau Gasol was on another team, do you think he would be gone by now??  I honestly think there are several GM's out there that just don't want to deal with Kupcake!!

You two are so quick to make judgements against people.
Why should the Lakers trade a 1st round pick and use up their trade exception for Beasley on 3/1?
They might do it on 3/8 or 3/15.
I think LA would rather trade players for Beasley and give up a 1st round pick.

The Lakers might need the trade exception for a pg which is priority #1.

Your story about the Chris Paul trade continues to be wrong.
If LA had to take back Okafor, no, they couldn't do it because Okafor alone would cause LA to have a $62m luxury tax hit for the 2013-14 season.

If LA can trade for a pg then they should and probably will use the TPE on Beasley. 2/29 or 3/1 is way too early to give into what Minnesota is demanding.

    Re: Beasley shopped hard!

The good thing about the details of the Beasley to Lakers coming out is the C's know exactly what the T'wolves really want for Beasley. They want a first rounder. The Lakers were the 1st option because he could be traded there and they would not have to take back salary. The C's are in an ideal spot to get him now that the Lakers are out. They have a 1st rounder and an expiring contract in JO that matches Beasley. Twolves dont get the salary dump they wanted, but they get their 1st rounder

In Response to Re: Beasley shopped hard! : As always, mouth bigger than the brain. Of course that's what the Lakers want! The question you should be asking is what the Wolves want! The Wolves want to dump Beasley for a 1st round pick. Why would the Wolves want Artest or Walton or any of the Laker players?  Other than Kobe, Bynum, and Gasol, the rest of the Laker roster is garbage.

Why do you need to say that?
Most teams have 3 good players and a bunch of garbage players.

Just because Minnesota wants a 1st round pick and take back players, it doesn't mean the Lakers need to do it.

More teams will be looking to dump players closer to 3/15.

Wait until 3/15 to see who is on their team.
    Then give your opinion.

Watch ORL and DAL before the trade deadline.
We are also in the mix to make at least one change....

As we get closer to the trade deadline, we'll see exactly what each team does.  I stand by my assertation that the lakers will remain pretty much in tact, as no one wants to help them.  The small market owners all make money when old man Buss pays his luxury tax!!

JO and Clippers pick is a no brainer. JO is a stiff. Clippers pick will be a late pick and Beasley is a head case but has serious talent regardless.

    Re: Beasley shopped hard!

If Boston traded JON for Beasley would they keep him at $8.17m next season?
That is the amount of his qualifying offer.
That is a big chunk to take out of Boston salary cap for next season.
If they let him walk after this year, why would Boston give up a 1st round pick for a rental who plays a position which is one of their strengths?

Maybe they won't - why would the lakers do it?  Ooops, they wouldn't!!
