Good stuff......today's NBA is so much slower than it was especially when compared to the Celtics' fast breaking style.....those DVD's that you suggested are pretty entertaining.....the teams just flew up and down the court with the players never seeming to tire out....today they pound the ball up the floor and it seems like so many of the shots are taken in the last 5-10 seconds....
that's a huge reason why the rebounding numbers went down....while the shooting percentages have gone up (especially when considering all the dunking going on) there just aren't nearly as many shots going up per game....there were a lot more rebounds to be had back in the day...hence the fact that a Russell or Chamberlain routinely averaged 25 per game....it was not out of the ordinary for them to get to the mid 30's often....today it's huge when someone like Kevin Love or Al Horford (the other night) gets into the 20's....
