Boston is playing their 5th game in 7 nights and they will be doing it short handed without Humphries, Rondo, and Bradley. They are also on a home/road back-to-back where road teams only win 37% of those games on average. Detroit on the other hand is on a road/home back-to-back where the home team wins that 2nd game 60% of the time. Boston gives up the 8th most points in the paint while Detroit is #1 is points scored in the paint. Detroit is also a far superior rebounding team and these traits will be that much more polarized with the absence of Humphries.

Detroit should not only win this game, but i expect them to cover the 5.5 points as favorites.

Lose one for the gipper We are true fans, hard core.  I think they should hold Green out, because he is about due for one of his acceptable games. Bring back Ernie Digregorio to play pg today

Mossad picked you up early Mel, so you don't have to carry the game thread for the whole first half.

As much as most of us want the Celtics to lose their remaining games they have a good chance of winning tonight.  Detroit is another bad team.

Who needs Ray Allen when you have Jared Sullinger?

    Re: Boston @ Detroit

Win or lose, the team made recognizably sound basketball plays when Pressey, Bayless, Olynyk, Sullinger and either Johnson or Babb took the floor. The two bigs cleared out of the block areas, they passed the bal (instead of dribbling it) to the next side, space was created, and the Piston defense was stretched thin. And Bayless only had to shoot.

You can't replicate that look and action with Bass, Green, and Humphries on the floor together. Pressey, Sullinger, and Olynyk give you three guys who know where the ball should go next and where it's going to come from next.

With starters Green, Bass, Humphries, Bayless and Rondo on the floor, only Rondo does.
