Burning need for a good 2

This team needs a dependable scorer so bad.  A guy who can lite it up.  Fav looke very good in the first half.  KO does not see the ball much.  Bradley can get the shots up fast, and lots of them.  Lee is not what is needed.  Green is beginnng to make my stomach hurt.

That's why something like below needs to happen.

Adam Silver: With the 1st pick of the 2014 NBA Draft, the Boston Celtics select the best college player in 2013-14.

Re: Burning need for a good 2

The best player available is a subjective decision.  Other than the already ordained Wiggins, who has yet to play a single game in college yet, Danny may feel that Parker is better than Randle, or Exum is better than Parker, or Smart is better than Exum, etc.

But to stick with the spirit of this thread, if its a SG that we need, then Smart, Exum (both PG/SGs) or possibly Seldon would be the preferred pick to address the priority team need at SG, especially IF they are deemed the best player available.

Would you rather have Smart who could potentially become the next Dwayne Wade or Jabari Parker as the next Carmelo Anthony?

We all need to see how these players perform in real games at the college level first.  Remember Shabazz Muhammad was declared unstoppable and a top lottery pick entering college... then did not live up to predictions and fell out of the lottery in a weak draft.

The Burning Need for a good #2 guard ?

His name is Marshon Brooks (we will finally see the guy they drafted and should have kept) and he should start along with Bradley until Rondo comes back, then we need to FINALLY see Rondo and Avery Bradley play together for an extended period of time.....that's a dynamic duo in the backcourt and possibly the NBA's best.....

That will be one of the smallest backcourt duo and possibly the worst shooting backcourt in the NBA.

Best defensive backcourt in NBA , they are more than physical enough that the "small" tag doesn't even apply to them......Bradley was never supposed to be the point, he was supposed to play next to Rondo and we've never really gotten to see it, they were electrifying in the playoffs together before Avery Bradley was shut down with the shoulder thing, at that time, Avery Bradley was clearly the 2nd best player on the Celtics....both Rondo and Bradley are dynamic instigators and I want to see them finally play together: Celtics Backcourt13-RONDO/BRADLEY=FULL HOUSE ......!

Re: Burning need for a good 2

Rondo and Bradley do score 30 points combined every night , the two other guards in the mix are Marshon Brooks and Jordan Crawford. Those 4 will get the minutes.

Rondo is the best rebounding guard in the NBA

Bradley is a top 5 defender in the whole NBA

Neither Rondo and Bradley are Volume Shooters and don't need to be

Both Rondo and Bradley both shoot a high FG % , both are about 48%

They are both elite athletes with extensive NBA playoff experience

    Best backcourt in NBA

They need a 3rd wheel at the very least, and hopefully a 4th guard to make for a dynamic backcourt rotation.....Marshon Brooks is the key to it all. Ainge redeems one of his biggest draft day mistakes (passing on Mario Chalmers and Pekovic, not to mention DeAndre Jordan) and Marshon Brooks returns to become impact rotation player - Brooks needs to start at 2 or at least get as many minutes as Bradley . best case scenerio has Jordan Crawford emerging as the 4th guard in the rotation....I suggest FIERCE goes home and gets his shinebox on this one...the long awaited Rondo/Avery Bradley reunion will determine how qucikly the Celtics get back to the NBA's promised land....

    Best backcourt in NBA...

You are aware that those three guys, including Lee, collectively are shooting just barely 40%, right? And that they're shooting 34.5% beyond the arc?

Brooks and Crawford are misfit toys - they have certain parts that work well, particularly on the offensive end, but others that don't work at all, i.e., neither can defend at an NBA level. And both can be wildly inconsistent.

Bradley shoots 36% inside the arc. What should be his go-to weapon, a pull-up mid-range jumper off the dribble, isn't there at NBA level because his handle is so shaky it slows him down to the point that he can't get defenders moving back fast enough. That also accounts for all those drives to the basket where his defender is comfortably step for step with him. Throw in small hands and shortish arms and this is what you've got. A defensive presence who can make spot-up threes. If he was 6'4"-6'5", great. He's 6'2", and he may not even get extended.

Yes, they all become better with Rondo beside them, but they aren't going to make you forget Wade, Harden, J Johnson, Kobe, J Butler, Mayo, et. al.

Marshon Brooks = Gerald Green - Poor court sense and bad defense

Bradley = T. Allen  - only smaller and less skilled offensively
