I have always said that Buss took the titles from MN to get closer to BOS. He did NOT do it out of respect for the MN Lakers. What other franchise has done this? IND (Colts), STL (Rams), OCK (Supersonics)........Jack Kent Cooke wanted nothing to do with the MN Lakers when he bought the team.

It doesn't matter what the owner wants. The Laker record from the Minny days automatically went with the francise to LA when the francise moved. The Atlanta Hawks claim the ST Louis Hawks win in 1957-58 as part of their francise record. Ditto for the Rochester Royals win in 1949 which transfers down to the present Sacramental kings. The Philadelphia 76ers also claim a championship from the old Syracuse Nationals back in 1954 or 1955. Golden State Warriors 3 championships include 2 from the 1950-60 years when the Warriors were in Philly.
