Can Rondo affect his own value?

Can Rondo affect his trade value by coming out and saying that we will not re-sign with any team that he is traded to?

What if he says he will play out his contract with any team that he's traded to and return to the Celtics in the summer of 2015?

CP3 pulled a similar stunt like that back in 2011.

Rondo outsmarted Ainge when Rondo refused a contract extension last month.

Are you high? That is so far from the truth.

This took me all of 10 seconds to find. The contract extention at this time in his contact is just going through the motions. Nobody signs extentions this early.

    EXACTLY!!!

So why did Ainge bother offering Rondo a contract extension when everybody knows nobody signs this early, right?

In case of re-injury or rehab setbacks from ACL issues... R9R would have a steady income including a nice raise  to fall back on... insurance going forward.

And yes it makes him easier to trade but he gets something in return... job-related income security.

    Nobody outsmarted anyone.

it gives Ainge and idea about how serious Rondo  will be about  re-singn with Boston..If Rondo is a true Celtic, he will resign, if he is only aboutthe money, then trade his butt...

Here's what happens.  ainge will not be able to trade for TWO first rd picks pick no one in the NBA thinks he's worth it.  Ainge will put the screws to the C's in the long run because he cannot pick his way out of a paper bag.  Have a nice day!

I have to disagree with you Pud.

FIERCY has outsmarted himself in an effort to look like he's Mr Know-It-All around here.

Simply ignored by Fiercy is the fact that if Rondo were afraid to be traded after an extension he could have had a basic clause added to the extension .... "No Trade" w/o acceptance ala KG.

End Of Story ... A futile attempt by Fungus to improve his Branding has exploded in his face and once again sunk him and his brand into the mud. So pitiful watching him crash and burn the last few weeks as the deadline nears and none of his predictions are coming to fruition and he she lashes out at everyones comments.

Who says we want him back....

    BWAHAHAHAHA

Face the facts...the C's want to deal him or they would not put it out there that he was available at ANY price....

This is a hoot!!! Spin city! From Bleacher Report...

"By setting the asking price for Rondo at two unprotected first-round selections, Celtics president of basketball operations Danny Ainge has essentially made his floor general untouchable.

It makes sense that Boston’s front office would set the price for Rondo this high, because the point guard was named the Celtics' 15th captain in franchise history earlier this season.

According to ESPN’s Chris Forsberg, first-year head coach Brad Stevens explained that the decision wasn’t made lightly.

“I’ve always believed that captains name themselves with their leadership on and off the court,” he said. “This isn’t about us naming Rondo captain. This is about him earning that title through his play as a Celtic, his accountability as a leader of this team, and his commitment to the Boston community.”"

    Captain Untouchable... no less.
