I'm on the fence about both the likelihood and risk/reward factor of trading for Love. Many seem to want to snag Asik too. I may be on the fence about Love but Asik, I was on the fence about but after watching him V Por, I definitely pass on him. I would rather get Dieng in the deal with Love than pursue Asik. Love coming to the Cs would rely on DA  picking up another player to go deep enough into the playoffs and close to a ring  to want Love & Rondo both to stay when their contracts were up. That's a lot of ifs. This and many other  scenarios hang in the balance until Tuesday night. I can't remember ever anticipating the draft lottery this much in a while.

Yeah, this week we will be elated or deflated. Most exciting summer since we got Ray and KG!

IFFFF Love is a true possibility and he wants to come East to play for a rebuilding team, then I pray we get the 5th, 6th pick in this year's draft and thus cannot afford him.

Love is like Carmelo.  Has to have the ball almost all of the time.  He doesn't make his teammates better.  And, like Carmelo, he's never going to win a championship.  You need superstars who are willing to be unselfish- The Pacers learned that yesterday.  Do you think Love will ever make that extra pass to Rondo or Bradley or Asik or Green or a good shooter if we ever get one?

With our pick Embiid or Vonleh.

With the Wolves pick we grab Gordon or Early or Napier.

17  we grab Early, Napier or Russ Smith.

We could start Rondo-Bradley-Green-Love-Pekovic

Second team: Pressey-P.J. Tucker-Paul Pierce-Gordon-Embiid

Napier, Russ Smith, Faverani, Joel Anthony.( Garnett for the playoffs?)

I am a sick individual. In the clutch Rondo- Bradley-Pierce- Green Love.

Early isn't that good.

If the Celts end up picking 5th or 6th then trading the pick for Love makes sense.

But what if the Celts end up in the top 3?
Then keep the pick and participate as a facilitator in a 3-way trade with Phoenix and Minnesota to get Alex Len.
Len isn't that good either.

Re: Celtics possibly offering their top pick in a deal for Kevin Love

Five things to consider about getting Love:

1. Love wants out of Minny because they are stuck in a perpetual state of suckage. Why would he want to come here?
2. No extension, no deal.
3. It took several years for Michael Jordan to win his first NBA title. Before trading for KG, the Cs had Paul Pierce and Ray Allen in the fold. The Cs must not blow their load on one great player. There won't be any talent around him if he arrives.
4. Rondo and Green aren't valuable trade chips. They are locally overrated and overpaid.
5. The Cs do have the ammo to make a deal, but it's the their #1s. The Cs must get a lengthy big and/or a 3pt specialist on the wing before considering Love.

Re: Celtics possibly offering their top pick in a deal for Kevin Love

Hi,

If Danny can get Love and he agrees to an extension - it's a nobrainer. Even if the Celtics get #1-3 pick and have to use in the trade I'd say go for it.

IMO, Love is a star. Besides 26/12 that he brings to the table, let's not forget that stars gravitate to other stars, as we witnessed 7 years ago. This time around Celtics have RR who will be UFA next year and be much more inclined to stay to play with another star and a good possibility to lure one more star this year or the next and be on the contender's level. Even if he's traded it'd be much easier to get another top tier player to add to an existing star.

As for giving #1-3 pick for KL, my argument is he is a star right now and only 25 years old. The odds of #1-3 to become star/super-star is about 60% (based on historical data) and 3-4 years away.

If you were Love and wanted to play in the playoffs, why would you come to the celtics when other than Oly and sullinger, the team is full of subs..   Yes and I mean rondo is part of that and if they give him MAX it's a colossal stupid move .

Always Right.....at least in my mind

Kevin Love’s people reiterated to the Timberwolves this past week that they had better trade him or else he’ll leave via free agency when his contract is up after next season. With Love looking to exit, there’s your No. 1 reason the T-wolves have not been able to find a head coach to take over for Rick Adelman. Love wants to play for the Lakers but he’s also open to coming to the Knicks

God I hope we don't waste a good pick for this guy. Lets trade someone instead. Love is fragile and has proven to be a little of a nuisance to other players. Yes he is good!but not great. The more I see highlights of Embidd the more I like the kid.

Kevin Love is not Kevin Garnett.

We already have two good, cheap power forwards.

Sign Hayward and take the pick.

Exactly! I couldn't agree more. Every time the C's trade for a player, it seems like they give up way too much. Why not draft a good player and hope that maybe he turns out to be an all star. We could get Love by giving away a bunch of #1s, and have him blow his knee out.  You just never know. That's why I say stick to the draft and if u want a good player, just pay him in free agency. I get that Kevin Love may not make it to free agency should he get dealt, but there will be other guys that will, just like LeBron,  Bosh, Mello etc....

Re: Celtics possibly offering their top pick in a deal for Kevin Love

Well....we only have to wait one more day to find out if we get lucky. I personally would much rather have Embiid than Love because he plays a position (5) that, if his potential is real and reached, can have a far greater impact on our championship hopes than a 4. Sorry, but that's the truth.

I'm just not sure about the "Love Connection". I know DA and the ownership has promised "fireworks" this off-season, but I don't want to see some trade that will grab too many high draft picks and cripple our cap for a 4 when we really need a 5 far more to protect the rim, which Embiid can do. I'm not terrified by his back at all. If Sully's was fixable, Embiid's is as well.

BTW...Wallace is here to stay. Nobody is stupid enough to take his contract.

Love alone, then keeping both Headcase Rondo and Jeff "The Slacker" Green, will not lead to a championship, not even close. Build the right way.
