Well Ainge offered  Brandon Bass for Kevin Durant, but the Thunder turned it down. What else was Ainge supposed to do?
Offer Rondon't for an LA party reservation?

Barring that, how about Rondon't for Big Baby...oh yeah, he took a buyout!

    Nevermind!

This team is so bad, a high school team could beat them....Thanks AINGE for standing pat at trade deadline; in real life AINGE would be considered a lousy CEO, but in sports they pay people like this millions of dollars to put a garbage team on the floor night in and night out....Disgusting to watch
I take offense to this. The Celtics could beat a bad high school team. Take it back.
Yeah they could...GO TEAM...!

In a sense I can agree with the OP.

You have people, not fair weather fans of teams. Who put down their hard earned money to watch their team. Either live or on TV. And then on TV perhaps paying for a cable subscription or what not.

Those people, people who pay money to watch their side do deserve more than a side that is tanking, attempting to win a high pick in what is a 'lottery'. Celtics did this before when they were after Tim Duncan. And that got them no where.

Yes Ainge and other GMS are working their butts off to make sure their teams are bad. But the paying customer deserves a team that is at least trying to win each night. Not just showing up.

Simple solution. If a team is going out to deliberately 'tank'. Then how about the owners of the said teams, half the price of tickets and cable subscriptions. Or whatever, anything to compensate the fan.

Because people here full well can remember the Duncan 'tank'. And it got the side nowhere, a season of misery for nothing. At least in the short term. But the reward after that was drafting Paul Pierce. Which was a key piece in the whole championship of 2008.

But from 1996 to 2008 is one heck of a wait from one 'tank' season to the eventual reward.

And the thing is as well. That if Boston ended up with the number one pick in 2007 and ended up with Oden? What then, definately no championship.

Lottery is all smoke and mirrors. Not the sort of thing I'd bet my house on.

Agreed. You do realize the goal is to lose as many games as possible this year right?

That's how the NBA works. Head to the lottery if you want to get better.

Get used to losing, that's what the team needs right now.

If Ainge had traded someone, it would have been to make our team worse, not better. That said we are doing great getting worse on our own!!!!

Man, you really do have issues if somebody has opposing views from yours. Are you a retired school teacher or professor?

Agree. And what did we get Pierce at? Not top 5. theres plenty of other players who turned out great that didn't go in the top 5 or 10 for that matter. F- the Tank BS
