See  he is six five to six seven, how big do you want your guards to be?

I've seen him listed at 6'4", which is decent size for a 2. The thing I love about Jimmy Butler is his ability to play and defend the 2 and 3. It's the same thing with Paul George, but you could argue he could play 2 or 3 and defend 2, 3, and 4, and maybe some 1. That's why I like bigger guards. More defensive flexability.

One thing about Marquette players that played for Buzz Williams: they don't take possessions off. They are a very hard working, hard nosed team that plays every possession like it's the last possession. They do whatever it takes to win the 50-50 balls, they get on the boards, and they defend. Hopefully Vander brings that with him

WASHINGTON -- To help shore up their backcourt depth after starting guard Avery Bradley suffered a sprained ankle Tuesday night against Miami, the Celtics have signed guard Vander Blue to a 10-day contract, the team announced Wednesday.

Blue, a 6-foot-5-inch former Marquette standout who went undrafted in 2013, played in four games Delaware 87ers of the NBA Development League this season, averaging 19.0 points, 4.8 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 30.5 minutes per game.

It's expected that Blue will be available Wednesday night when the Celtics face the Washington Wizards here.

The Celtics signed Blue after Bradley, who started 43 games this season, sprained his right ankle in the second quarter of the Celtics' loss to the Heat in Miami Tuesday.

Bradley did not return to the game and Celtics coach Brad Stevens said after that game that Bradley would probably not play Wednesday.

The Celtics are already facing a slimmed-down backcourt with guard Jerryd Bayless sidelined because of a sprained left big toe that he suffered Sunday in Orlando. On top of that, guard Rajon Rondo is playing limited minutes.

At Marquette, Blue was named to the All-Big East Second Team as a junior after averaging 14.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.8 assists and 1.03 steals in 33.0 minutes per game. Blue also worked out for the Celtics before the draft, so they're familiar with him to a degree.

My tweet from summer league: "Convinced Marquette's Vander Blue will make a roster this season, too much talent not to be in the league."
