So we get another jump shooting forward who doesn't rebound well and a second rate point guard who punks out.....and we give up an all star point guard who just can't shoot jump shots with consistency?

As KY said, I hope Danny is smarter than that!

This guy would be ideal comming off the bench...a poor man Gasol..
Less scoring but decent rebounder and defense...might be had for bag of cheetos..without giving away the store.
Now if we can get the real one, well that's a no brainer, but just in case..

He's in for $4.5M and $4.8M salary for 2013 and 2014.  I'd rather not have cap room locked up with a guy who's not going to do much but be a backup.  If he could make us a contender this year - I'd be all for it.

This season is 98% shot.  Let's ride it out and keep our flexibility for deals next summer - free agents, trading up to a high draft choice, resigning Green, etc.  Chris Anderson would help none of those things.

Ilike the trade for Bucks Big Brockman..he's bruiser...thats what we need coming off the bench...energy and rebounding..

The only way to turn this team into contenders is to trade for the Eastern Conference All Stars.

Might be the dumbest trade ever written...please trade away our 25 year old allstar point guard for an overrated shooting 4 man and an undersized back up point guard.

That move is sure to pull in free agents in the future.

The Bleacher Report blows the only interesting trade they ever mentioned was the Rondo/Curry swap ..Boston gets a young Pg with the ability to score from the outside and Golden State gets a delivery man.....still don't think I would make the trade.

Using Bleacher Reports as a remotely reputable site is a failed thread for any sport. They spew out hundreds of articles a week and 90% of it is nonsense.

I agree with you about the Bleacher Report.  I am on their e-mail list and they send me weekly articles about the Celtics.  Many of them are very interesting but I don't always agree with them.

    Re: Celtics Trade

    How about the following:

Boston receives: Jason Kidd, Lamar Odom, J.J Redick, Ryan Anderson.
Orlando receives: Kevin Garnett, Rajon Rondo, Brendan Haywood, Shawn Marion.
Dallas receives: Dwight Howard, Hedo Turkoglu, Jameer Nelson, Chris Wilcox.

The Celtics turn Garnett and Rondo into two productive power forwards in Odom and Anderson, plus a decent shooting guard in Redick.

The Magic rid themselves of Turkoglu, replace Howard with Haywood, and end up with upgrades at PG (Rondo) and SF (Marion).

The Mavericks add Howard to Nowitzki and Terry, plus an upgrade at PG with Nelson over the aging Kidd.

As per Bleacher Report Boston's pursuit of Pau Gasol suggests that the team is in the market for a high-scoring big man to succeed Kevin Garnett . Orlando has one of those in Ryan Anderson, and can also send back a point guard in Jameer Nelson. Nelson has struggled this season, but between him and Celtics favorite Avery Bradley, the point guard duties would be more than handled. For the Magic, Rondo gives Howard a top-tier point guard to run with, as well as a player Orlando can build around should he leave. The Celtics may not be high on Rondo, but the Magic would be, as he renders them unquestionable contenders. Might not be a bad idea.......

so the answer is to replace garnett with a 31 year old who is past his prime. this trade will never lead to a championship or anything close to it, all it does is prolong the rebuilding process by a few more years. this better not be true. they need to build the team with guys who are 25 or younger , not guys in their 30's.

Oh, yeah, you're really good, bringing back a thread from FEB, and talking about a trade no one really thought would happen......it would make the lakers unbeatable, and BOS would never do that!!
