Celts Close To Signing Terrence Williams

    http://redsarmy.com/2013/02/18/report-celtics-close-to-signing-terrence-williams/

The Globe’s Gary Washburn has this update on the Celtics search for a warm body:

NBA source tells Globe the #celtics are strongly considering signing former New Jersey Net swingman Terrence Williams to 10-day contract.

Williams has played with three NBA teams and most recently China, considered a head case in past but has talent.

And where will he most likely be after ten days?  Please tell me the Celtics are going to do more.

A great practice player to sit on the end of the Cs bench! At least Melo will have some company now!

    In response to Kirk6's comment:

NBA source adds Williams to the Celtics is nearly done. He is waiting for clearance letter from Chinese team and headed to Denver to join team

Looks like Williams could be in uniform as early as tomorrow night against the Nuggets.

Williams had been playing very well for Guangdong Southern before leaving the team due to a death in his family. He was averaging almost 18-3-4 for the first place Tigers before leaving. TWill has good size at 6'6 with great athleticism and should be able to play as a big guard and a small forward. With the Celtics no longer looking to fill a specific position, he's the kind of all-around player that Doc should be able to plug in right away. He's got a handle and the tools to play Celtic defense.

Unless we revisit 2006 he will play very little.

I remember this guy...At the time I thought, " Where do the kings get all these talented guys?"

    and then he disappeared...

Amazing talent wrapped inside a leaky tortilla. If PP/KG and Doc C's can do to him what BB and the Pats have done to "questionable character" guys, this could add even more athleticism to the already up tempo style O and pressuring D we've seen since SOMEONE'S absence.

Big if....as in If my aunt had nads, she'd be my uncle.

He hasn't cause any trouble yet!!!

He recorded his first career triple-double April 9, 2010, with 27 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists in the Nets double overtime win over the Chicago Bulls 127–116

You don't do that in this league unless u have talent .....we can only hope!!!

Hopefully a few years of Top Ramen and Humble Pie will get this kid on track.

My reaction to this signing was "wow, I remember him, he's pretty good." Next I put that memory into context I was thinking his college days and draft day. Haven't recalled much else. Hope is good.

nice to take a chance on as the fourth guard...but where is another big man?

I don't even mean a center, per say......just someone who can play PF even?

On the bright side, we've had to endure Rondo the past several years so this guy will seem like childs play...  then again, we still have DOc here

Nothing overt as far as his behavior. He probably thinks he is better than he actually is.

Maybe he has grown up after being dropped by so many teams.

I am certain he will do well as a practice player.
