    Celts interested in DeJuan Blair?

    Right now the Celts can trade Barbosa's contract for Blair.

    But the Celts would most likely have to add a draft pick.

    While Blair is not the ideal big, he's an upgrade over Bass.

    Barbosa's injury actually simplifies the situation for Ainge.

    Besides, the Celts will have KG, Green, Pierce, Terry, and another G in the last 5 mins of the 4th qtr. 

    Getting Redick is more critical as we've seen how the Celts get into scoring droughts from time to time.

    Blair is very active around the basket. He is more like Sully than Bass..

    His wingspan and girth allow him to get rebounds and put backs that bass cannot.

    Very similar to BB or Sully....He can play center when we go small...

    And if we get Reddick, we are back in business..

    Heck-u-va way to treat a player who gave his all in the line of duty.  I really don't think you can dump an injured player this easily...  must be some ruling against this kind of treatment in the Players Assn rules.  I thought Barbosa was a solid player for the C's after the Rondo injury.  I hope they bring him back next year.

    It's not dumping. As long as the Celts don't waive Barbosa he can be used in a trade.

    What the Spurs would want is the draft pick the Celts have to offer. They can waive Barbosa after the trade. But Barbosa still gets paid.

    Right now the Celts are just 27th in the league in 3pt shooting. When Ray was a Celtic, the Celts were always a good shooting team, 48% or 49% shooting. This season the Celts are just shooting 46% from the field. The poor 3pt shooting is the reason for that.

    Redick will help the Celts in the scoring department. No team would leave Redick open. This gives the Celts another scoring threat besides Pierce, KG, and Terry.

    Last night Lee was only in the game, in the last 5 mins, for defensive purposes. Doc went with Terry and Bradley because Bradley was shooting better than Lee. Imagine if the Celts have a 3-guard rotation of Terry, Bradley, and Redick.

    DeJuan Blair is hardly the solution for our big man problem.  Trading Lee would destroy our already paper thin guard corps.  What happened to all the trades that were going to come?  I think we will patch it up and do next to nothing, getting players who are worse than what we already had.

    Lee for Redick, a guard for a guard. The Celts can then sign another guard before the playoff rosters are set.

    Blair is cheap. Of course we still want Gortat or Dalembert, but Blair would be an upgrade over Bass.

    I saw Blair's numbers he is a rebounder.  So what do we do with Bass?

    If the Celts can convince the Spurs to trade Blair for Barbosa and a 2nd round pick, the Celts can then package Bass and 1st round pick for another player.

    The Celts have options right now as Ainge has no choice but to make a trade. Barbosa's injury is forcing Ainge to make a deal.

    Blair could put up huge numbers with consistent minutes.  He is a better rebounder than Bass. The Spurs just signed the kid from New Zealand and are going to bring him along slowly....wish the Celts had signed him. 

    The Celts need size badly.  I wonder if Milicic would come back..what is the situation with his mother?

    I'd go so far as a first round pick. This year's draft class is weak and we are not going to draft a player better than Blair this year.  He givees us what we lost with Sullinger going down rebounds and toughness.
