    In response to Fierce34's comment:

If the Celts can use Barbosa's contract to get Blair, the Celts can use Bass or Lee and a 1st round pick to get Redick.

While Blair is not the ideal big, he's an upgrade over Bass.

Barbosa's injury actually simplifies the situation for Ainge.

If we're gonna trade Lee, why not call Memphis and try for Davis or Arthur. I'm not sure Blair is an upgrade over Bass.

    Sorry but I don't want Blair...aka Bass 2.0

We need size, just sign Kenyon Martin.

Tell any GM here's what's on the table...take your pick of options.

    Bass, #1, Melo

    Really?

Even if it would only cost the Celtics Barbosa's contract and a 2nd round pick?

So we are going to trade a injured player? I heard all week that it's impossible to trade a injured player. Barbosa's contract can't be that attractive anyway...what is it league min?

Blair is very active around the basket. He is more like Sully than Bass..

His wingspan and girth allow him to get rebounds and put backs that bass cannot.

Very similar to BB or Sully....He can play center when we go small...

And if we get Reddick, we are back in business..

Blair has an expiring contract for 1m.

Barbosa's is for the vet's minimum which will count as 854k.

As long as the Celts do not waive Barbosa then he can be used in a trade.

Heck-u-va way to treat a player who gave his all in the line of duty.  I really don't think you can dump an injured player this easily...  must be some ruling against this kind of treatment in the Players Assn rules.  I thought Barbosa was a solid player for the C's after the Rondo injury.  I hope they bring him back next year.

Lee for a big man would leave the Celts with only 2 healthy guards.

Blair not an upgrade over Bass remains to be seen. But he's one hell of a rebounder.

Besides, the Celts will have KG, Green, Pierce, Terry, and another G in the last 5 mins of the 4th qtr.

Getting Redick is more critical as we've seen how the Celts get into scoring droughts from time to time.

Redick is not good at creating shots.

DeJuan Blair is hardly the solution for our big man problem.  Trading Lee would destroy our already paper thin guard corps.  What happened to all the trades that were going to come?  I think we will patch it up and do next to nothing, getting players who are worse than what we already had.

Lee for Redick, a guard for a guard. The Celts can then sign another guard before the playoff rosters are set.

Blair is cheap. Of course we still want Gortat or Dalembert, but Blair would be an upgrade over Bass.

Besides, in the last 5 mins of a playoff game, it would be KG and Jeff Green at C and PF. If the Celts get Blair, he'll just start and play 20 minutes per game. Blair would get 7-8 rebounds per game in 20 minutes per game. Definitely an upgrade over Bass.

I saw Blair's numbers he is a rebounder.  So what do we do with Bass?

Blair could put up huge numbers with consistent minutes.  He is a better rebounder than Bass. The Spurs just signed the kid from New Zealand and are going to bring him along slowly....wish the Celts had signed him.

The Celts need size badly.  I wonder if Milicic would come back..what is the situation with his mother?

Re: Celts interested in DeJuan Blair?

I'd go so far as a first round pick. This year's draft class is weak and we are not going to draft a player better than Blair this year.  He givees us what we lost with Sullinger going down rebounds and toughness.
