[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Celts/Knicks opening game thread : One of the top criticisms on this Board is that Doc doesn't give Rookies and young players a chance.   When he does and we lose leads (all the time), we say they shouldn't have been in!   Bottom line is we don't have anyone to spell Rondo and Ray in critical situations.   Bradley and Dooling give us nothing but Doc has vowed to give them a chance and he's doing it.  We're all seeing why Doc didn't want to give the backup guards, other than Delonte, any time last year (Arroyo, Bradley, Wafer).  This year, they'll get time and we'll lose leads every time.

True but I think Bradley has had enough chance to show up at least something..and he has yet delivered. So, where do we stand? Bradley is not reliable period.

All in all a good effort.  The Celtics without Joey Crawford would have beat that team.  PP please get back so when start winning.

Despite Pierce's absense, the difference in the game was Crawford. No one worked harder for the Knicks than he did. Why the League puts up with this embarrassment is and will always remain a mystery.

Wow embarrassing, blaming the refs for a Celtic loss. Man up, or are you a member of the PP heelgate crew?!

    Bleed green.

The Celtics had more field goals, more rebounds, and more assists than the Knicks in this game. The Knicks made only 3 more free throws. The reason the Knicks won the game was the 3 point fgs.  Nine times out of ten a team that scores more baskets, grabs more rebounds, and has more assists will win. It just did not happen tonight. The Knicks were fortunate that they hit their three's at a 45% clip.

Quisy did not fouled carmelo in the last minutes of the game.  It was a great steal. Also, we may need a better PG cause dooling showed me nutting no playmaker unless he needs more time to get adjusted with our team.  I am giving up in Bradley, doc please give Twan  Moore some minutes instead of Avery B

thanks for the numbers.  Very true, the Knicks were lucky to win.  When the Celts were down 16 they didn't blink.  When they went up by a few the Knicks almost completely collapsed, then the reffs and a few missed opportunities by the Celts prevented a 10 to 15 point win by the celts.

Agree with you about the foul on Carmelo, but the elite players always get the favorable calls.

After watching this game, I continue to scratch my head as to why we let DWest get away for the league minimum.

Dooling & AB or DWest... I really dont understand the logic.

I like Delonte, but with his history of injuries and erratic behavior, and he did not help the Mavericks win on Sunday either.  Let's give Dooling an opportunity and also see how Moore is going to fit.  DeTuan looks like a player, and although neither Bradley nor Moore are true point guards, neither is Delonte, he has been much more a SG ever since he and Jameer Nelson were the backcourt in college.

Sorry for the late reply but, if that were true the Celtics would or should get more calls but they don't. Over the last few seasons, both PP and RA have been screwed on a consistent basis, and having Joey Crawford on the other team never helps. Pierce goes to the hoop, get raked, but rarely a foul is called, as well as getting an offensive foul on his own 3-pt shot???? And, RA's phantom foul on the rapist in the infamous 37-17 game. Boston's elite get nothing, while fakers and floppers get the calls.
